I've found that every now and again when I'm riding my bike on a tar seal road, I'll get a fairly big stone, or other such object flicked into my helmet which is enough to give me quite a scare. So what you ask?
Most of the time this happens, I can't see another vehicle, or people around which could be responsible for it. It seems to happen around town as well as in the country side. Does this happen to other people as well, or am I just tripping?

The gods hate you, and are just getting their eye in at the moment, watch out for when they get good at it cos next it'll be boulders.
Seriously though, probably just getting flicked up front the front wheel or something.

Been riding for a long time and had it happen once (on sealed roads) - about a year ago. Was wearing fullface with visor down. Stone or something hit side of visor - no cracks but marks remained on the visor as a reminder of the fright I got- ATGATT with visor down or safety glasses to protect the eyes at least when the visor is up.

Could be rather large moths or other large six legged vermin. Depending if you're near the Beehive in Wellington.

Join the club? What club? There's no club. It's just a rumour started by someone who wished there was a club. Which there isn't. So you can't join. Because it doesn't exist.

Wear an open face helmet - you can then stop and remove the embedded object for identification. Resultant scars are also cheaper than piercing or tattoos while providing a lasting memento of the occasion.

Try it the other way round!
Don't wait for them sneaky stones to come up and get you. No way!
Get right on down there and meet them head on with you're helmet, visor, face etc!
Attack is the best line of defence and in this world there are only two kinds of rider. :ride: leaders and followers! :shifty:
Be a leader, the world is full of scar free happy healthy followers!

The only rule of fight club is that you don't talk about fight club. The only problem with random stones is the munchies afterwards.
