Have just taken the Guzzi in for a WOF and noted the milage on the Inspection Report. I have done 6265kms in the last 6 months. 4 months of those I would refer to as 'winter riding'. I work 3 days a week and use the bike to commute 26kms round trip. Thats 2028kms of riding to work which equates to 4237kms of 'leisure' riding. I am wondering if that sort of milage is average or am I a pussy and should get out more. What sort of fiqures do other riders put up over a six month winter period? (Would like to know where I fit in on the Biker Legend - Biker pussy scale)

Feb 10 - Aug 10 = 12,500 (ish) kms.
Includes: one x 4k km NI trip (Feb)
one x TT2000 (also Feb)
Couple of "Around the Blocks" (from Chch).
Otherwise, it's commuting and trips around Canterbury for family and other stuff (Saturday KB rides and so forth).

About 2,700km a month (16,000 km 1/2 year, 32,000 km a year).

The sad part is about 1/2 of thse k's are filtering through rush hour traffic. If Puke' raceway was 1.5m wide I'd be in Group A for sure... but its not, and I'm slow as.

I was riding May 2006 to March 2010 and completed 77,000km - all recreational riding, with the math it was pretty accurate @ 10,000km for 6 months.

October 08 to October 09 (1 year) was about 33,000km... Even wof guy was surprised. This year so far has been much slower, only 11,000km (month and a bit to go).

Mind you, just the play bike. Work bike usually notches up 15,000km a year

I ride for the pleasure of it all and have done 7500k since Jan...so that's about 250k a week. I'd do more if I didn't have a job. Just want to ride and explore, Nelson has so much to offer!

 I hate you all....... I wish I had more time to ride, I have only done 1500km in 3 months - whoopdedoo.
I hate commuting on a bike, I just ride for pleasure, and I obviously ride with nanas who only do a couple of hours here and there.

many years ago did 13000kms in 9mths on a XT250 that included everything from work commute to lapping the south island

Used to average nearly 600kms a week commuting to work that was a 4 on 4 off roster used to be great heading south out of ChCh seeing the morning mayhem charge of all those heading into town

I'm semi retired now, the guy I used to ridicule. About 12'000kms a year.
I used to average 35'000 miles a year, part time courier & friends in far flung places. Loved shaft drive & thermal long johns, hated black ice, salty slush & winter gales.:scooter:

Bike was new mid Sept last year, did around 5800 kms up until end March (March Hare). Since then have done a meagre 300 kms or so (not a typo, yes only 300!).
Don't use it for work as have a work vehicle. It's dark & farkin cold when I get home, so no point getting it out. Have had a few rides planned, but most have been cancelled because of shit weather. Can't see the point in riding in shit weather just for the hell of it. Roll on summer.

As single dad with 3 boys still at home fulltime I can only take off properly when they are with their mum every second w/e. I don't use bike for work daily, but always ride to conferences and meetings around the country instead of flying, rain or shine. (Came back today from Welly from one)

Picked up the K1 2 weeks ago and now done a little over 3,000k's on it. The old road bike, a K100, got similar use. Apart from the occasional blast on the local roads when my boys are with friends and I can squeeze in a few hours of riding, she was used on the w/e's my ex has the boys. Those w/e's I will take off after I drop the boys at her place on Friday just after 7pm, and be home 7pm on Sunday when she drops them back. Just go where ever the road takes me. Normally cover anything from approx 800k's to 2,500k's in those w/e's.

Then there is a few dirt bikes that get used on the beach and in the dirt when I get withdraw sympthoms.

I do a minimum of 70km per day as I work quite far out of town so I do at least 350km per week, bought my SV in November last year and it had about 56,000 ks on the clock at the time, closer to 75,000 ks now.

I don't own a car so the bike is my only transport. Couple of long trips (to Wellington and back etc) throughout that time and a trackday in April.

What you are doing sounds fine to me.

Got my learners license early February, got the bike late February. Sitting my 6R thursday this week (yeah, forecast is for it to be persisting down!).

Clicked over 6800 km today on the way back from Arapuni.

I commute about 15 km/day as often as I can, I figure I've got to get experience in all sorts of weather, and usually take a ride with the Ulysees Club on Sunday.
