Had bit of time to kill in town this morning waiting for my partner, so wandered over to Wellington Motorcycles for a look see. Had a look at the new and second hand bikes, narrowly talked myself out of arranging a test ride on a new GSXR 1000, and tried on some helmets.

Just wanted to say the staff were really good, friendly, were attentive without being a pain in the arse, made me a coffee, and knew what they were talking about.

I am a picky customer, I will walk away from too much hard sell, but get shitty if I am completely ignored. Cheers guys you have got the mix pretty right, and the coffee was much appreciated. Well done, and I will probably be buying a new Shoei when my bonus from work finally comes through. :niceone:

Some years ago i went into Shafts (now AMPS) to buy a new Harley. Was paying cash and got no response out of Shafts. No deal at all. went to Wellington Motorcycles and tried the same. They knocked about 2g of the price and gave me a new pair of boots and pair of gloves to go as well.
Awesome place to shop. Been back there many times on my travels and have been looked after really well each time.
I now make a point of calling in if i'm down that way just to keep in touch. Always make a purchase, even if it's something i don't really need right now. bit of chain oil or a hat or whatever, just to show my appreciation.
Great place.

I've had both crappy and good service there.

Same at most Wellington area shops.

It's often as much about the specific person than the shop as a whole.

(If someone really pissed me off, and I ended up talking to the manager about it - then I'd learn how the "shop" was to deal with.)

+1 flew down from Tauranga to pick up a new bike a couple of years ago. Even if they were in Invercargill I still would have made the trip as the deal stacked up so good. (although the sleet and snow in National Park had me doubting it at the time!)

First new bike so thought the good service must have been the norm when shelling out big $ for a new bike....how I was wrong...
