Just remember that what one person considers a reccommened ride may be totally different to another's choice.

Thanks to all for the replies. I took a ride toward Raglan and saw a likely looking road to Onewhero. Ended up on a gravel road with spectacular hill scenery - nice to know they still exist in NZ! Many golf ball sized stones so not recommended for sports bikes, but manageable on my Buell. Looking forward to trying other rides
