Indicators start playing up! What should I do?

My little GN's indicators stopped working sometimes. It is fine most of the times, but some times when I use the turn signals, they just won't light up anymore. It definitelly not the bulbs, becuase they work most of the times. I opend up the switch on the left hadle bar, it looks all right for me( couldn't test it because I don't have a omhmeter). Anybody had the same problem before? I assume it is the wiring, but not very sure either? Should I take it back to the dealer since I only bought it new 5 months ago.

Replace the flasher relay thingy (no tricky fluid involved) - a plug-and-play unit that should be cheap.

Do they stop flashing and just stay on or just not flash sometimes?

Could also be a suspect earth.

Also check all the connectors for the turn signals are pushed in nice and tight (ohh baby).

They just don't flash sometimes. Especially when I just turn the bike on without starting the engine. After I started the engine and twist the throttle a couple of time, they come back on. Could this be a battery issue? Thanks for the advice

Twisting the throttle might vibrate something into position to make it work again. I'm not electrician but it sounds like it might be a lose wire or something somewhere in the works.

Might be helpful to find someone with a voltmeter that can check the volts on your battery, not enough may be your problem, especially if they also stop when you're idling at an intersection or parked. You could also try turning the headlight off briefly and see if they start up with a few more spare volts to play with.

Use the chart and a multimeter to make sure your electrical system is OK. If it is, you most likely have either a switch that needs cleaning (easy) or a loose wire somewhere that vibrates into the right position occasionally (hard to find, easy to fix).

Happy to advise if you post back here after running through the chart, but up until that point it's all guesswork.
