Yet another example of loony riding...

Heading south into Te Awamutu this morning via Paterangi Rd. There are a couple of corners, downhill into the town...

I head into the first one, right-hander for me - a car appears coming the other way. Then comes a bike, on my side of the road, passing the car on what, for him, is a blind, left-handed, uphill corner. (I know this because I usually ride it that way round myself).

This guy is in the middle of my lane. No problem for me (Mr "Always Prepared" [mostly...I hope]) - or him as it turns out. But if the tanker and trailer I had passed just back down the road a-ways had been where I was, then he would've had a problem, would'n'e?

I wondered what made this choice attractive to the rider...(I won't say a thing about what he was riding or how he was dressed...)

Damn - I'm getting to sound like Katman....

I can almost imagine what he was wearing and what he was on. Paterangi Rd is well known for it's "farm machinery" ;) yes?

When we had the old one-lane bridge on our road we got those pillocks blasting down our road in 2 gear I think just for the stupid noise.

Now the new bridge is in and the road is straight we don't get them any more. Bonus! :niceone:

Loading another round into the chamber, Darwin wiped the sweat of his brow. This had gone on too long, his theory had to be proved correct - even if he had to do it himself. He could hear the bike around the bend, He squeezed the trigger.....

The good 'ole tractors

Bet the prick didn't wave either.

I had a good old time coming back from Hampton in the weekend. Waving to all the choopers (not a mistake) to see how many I could get to wave. I had to be a very brave wee lad at times. It was such a rush

PS. the tally was 0 out of about 30. Not bad.

I waved to everyone this weekend too, I made a point of waving to the tractor riders, none of whom returned the gesture. Made me sad, I am heart broken. I even waved as I passed a tractor trying to pass a van, he saw me beside him and still didn't wave.
The cheek of it!

hahah 5 posts and it's a full blown wave thread...

Surely that's gotta be a record? :)

A mate of mine has a theory about relaxing through turns...he said if he can't wave to someone mid-corner, he's chocking the bars.

A fellow sportsbiker and I practice that in the weekend. I bet the cages following would have thought "those guys are SOOOO cool" :)

It don't recall any dodgy passes being made from any other bikes apart from tractor riders. I suppose it comes down to keeping their momentum up...
