I had a day off today so after wasting most of the day eating and relaxing my partner and I went for a ride over the Rimutaka's in the afternoon.
The original plan was for my partner to try out her new lens and try to take some action photos on the hill road.
BUT... It was pretty gusty up there and not a lot of fun to ride or to sit and take photos. So we headed out around Lake Wairarapa for a cruise and to take a few pics. Still windy but not as bad as on the hill.
We went right around to where the road turns to gravel (never been there before)
Took a few photos
Then back on the bike and along to a picnic area by the lake.
Took a few pics
And headed home.
The ride back over the hill was a bit hairy!
I have not done much riding on the road over the last few years, but I used to be up and down that hill almost every weekend for a good number of years, and I don't think I have ever been blown about like I was today! Maybe it was being two up that made the difference, but it may well have put my partner off hill rides for a wee while to come :crybaby:
