i've got her greatest hits CD - you know - the one with her photo on the edge.

Celine Dion serves a purpose. If you want to keep a canadian humble - just call them to account for her and Bryan Adams.

The Canadians didn't get it all wrong. Sarah McLaughlin and k d Lang rate up there. The latter has one of the best female voices I've heard and her phrasing is outstanding. Burton Cummings had a pretty good voice as well, both as a soloist and as lead vocal for Guess Who.

i didn't assert they did, just some wrong, horribly, reach for the channel changer wronggggg.

I think if you do a per capita, your average Ice hockey nut also does extremely well in most artistic endeavours - particularly that old time rock and roll music.

it's cause it's too cold to go outside.

Anyway, I have to suffer the slings and arrows of.....air supply.

Are you just name-dropping, or are you seriously suggesting Bon Scott and Ozzy are/were great singers? I like both of their stuff, like it lots, but the fact is that neither of them were good singers by any sretch of the imagination.
Talent has been seen in the forms of
Karen Carpenter
Pat Benatar
Sarah Brightman

Naturaly I have different ideas....

Connie Francis - Connie double tracked with herself, sophisticated stuff back then, the closest I've ever heard a human voice to a saxophone.

The Andrews Sisters - never can you hear closer harmonies, just one voice.

Frank Sinatra - The Voice,he's not famous for nothing.Frank also did round breathing or whatever, like a digeredoo player....he would hold a note forever, and just when you thought he was going to fall over...he's just carry on with the rest of the verse without taking a breath.

In fact all female jazz singers - but I rate Natalie Cole highly, especialy after her Unforgetable album where she dueted with her late father.

Gene Pitney - the guy can shatter glass.

Roy Orbison - totaly effortless over 4 octaves.

Frankie Valley - I hate guys who sing like a girl, but make an exception here.

Oh,ok...rock singers - Debbie Harry,my wife doesn't think she hit the notes but I really like her.....Annie Lennox the same in the next decade.Alice Cooper for putting expression into singing,Lou Reed for somehow doing the same in a monotone.David Byron from Uriah Heep,Ian Gillan,Eric Carmen.

And Louie Armstrong - the world of music owes so much to this man,and if you can get past the voice - the man can SING! he also invented scat.

Never listened but will.

The Andrews Sisters - never can you hear closer harmonies, just one voice.

I like bette's covers better, better quality recordings.

Frank Sinatra - The Voice,he's not famous for nothing.Frank also did round breathing or whatever, like a digeredoo player....he would hold a note forever, and just when you thought he was going to fall over...he's just carry on with the rest of the verse without taking a breath.

many have tried - only one voice can sing 'my way'.

In fact all female jazz singers - but I rate Natalie Cole highly, especialy after her Unforgetable album where she dueted with her late father.

nuh - zzzzzzzz

Gene Pitney - the guy can shatter glass.

Traens Canada Highway no - 24hrs from tulsa yes.

Roy Orbison - totaly effortless over 4 octaves.

'Mystery Girl' top 20 - maybe top 10 - all time favourites.

Frankie Valley - I hate guys who sing like a girl, but make an exception here.

I hear them and visualise Annette funicello and become slightly ill on the scent of apple pie

Oh,ok...rock singers - Debbie Harry,my wife doesn't think she hit the notes but I really like her.....Annie Lennox the same in the next decade.

It took me much longer than the co-pilot to switch on the the eurythmics. but now, yuh

Alice Cooper for putting expression into singing,

whatever

Lou Reed for somehow doing the same in a monotone.

God bless Lou - 'the statue of biggotry'

David Byron from Uriah Heep,Ian Gillan,

Yell if you want to.

Eric Carmen.

No wonder you are all by yourself.

And Louie Armstrong - the world of music owes so much to this man,and if you can get past the voice - the man can SING! he also invented scat.

And made good morning vietnam.
