yeah, minefield pricing politics. Maybe worth a revisit if a club day on main track. Made a surprisingly good bucket track.

Yep, 100% agree and it is possible... I did a track-day in about Nov last year on the extension/back track only, it was 'piggy-backing' off a Honda(?) riders day on main track. It was organised by the motard guys :niceone:getting in a bit of practice prior to Tri-Series...

It would be nice to have something more in the middle of the country. Maybe Mr Skunk has the inside scoop? Could maybe run it through the Vic club. Dun no.
1.5km
$1000 per day (Hire cost for driver training)... maybe we something could be down with Vic club ???? as full track hire = $2800 (not sure what weekend prices would be though).

It use to be great fun racing the buckets around there, during the suzuki winter series on the main track..
Maybe a few of us manawatu people could help out sorting a meeting out in conjuction with VIC??

Had a day playing around the track with 3 or 4 other buckets late last year during a PMCC track day, was fun as something different to the normal kart track.
Trialing it

No reason why they can't look like that
I'd be in for a 24hr Bucket race but I doubt you'd find a track anywhere you could run it without someone whining about the noise

No reason why they can't look like that
apart from some still thing buckets NEED to look like well buckets
must say up this way there are quite a few nice looking buckets
and they have been raced many times without starting to look abused :woohoo:

can any one pick what bikes they are racing?
Those 3/4 size yamaha (YB?) and honda (nsf?) would be my guess.

I think YSR 50, NSR 50 and maybe NSF 100.
The NSF 100 would be fun to race F5 on. I guess it is a race engine but essentially and XR/XL engine anyway. Or maybe supercharged and race F4.:woohoo:
At 74kg it would be interesting...

21kg as measured on an old set of bathroom scales.
If I get a chance I will calibrate the scales with 20L of water. 20l = 20kg.
just weighed my TF engine in at 18.6kg but thats with no carb and no oil. so with those be about the same as the GP.
on the other hand I disagree buckets do not need to look that flash! I'm building mine along the lines of that if it doesn't help it go faster or make it more reliable then its unessecary:oi-grr:
those M1GP bikes are awfully pretty tho....

found this, guess it answers my questions about the bikes they are using, pretty flash, motocross 80 cc's seems to be rather popular too.
