Chuck some Sport Demons on it, that's what I've got on mine. Plenty of grip for a 250, even if you plan to take it to track days. Long lasting and competitively priced.

I have Michelin Pilot Activ's on my MC22, seems to work good... Been thinking about upgrading to Michelin Pilot Power's, though, once I finish the rebuild... Have heard good things about them...

I'm a fan of Metzeler M5's.

I'm not sure what the wheel sizes are on your bike but, brand-wise, these have given me so much more confidence as a new rider.

I got a set for my CB400 - my first NEW set of tyres. I was somewhat nervous about scrubbing a new set of tyres in as I'm (somewhat) new to bikes, but they were pretty grippy from the onset and by the first 100km, they were awesome.

Good to see you've got a good budget to work with - it irks me to see people buy cheap rubber because they figure it's all going to get worn anyway. It's all that's between you and the road, so good tyres can be a life or death decision.

Plenty of grip...long lasting...competitively priced

Lucky you. With my bike normally I can only have two out of three. :(
