10am this morning. My daughter's driving west on SH58, along the twisties next to the inlet (all double-yellows), and she meets and oncoming bike on a blind corner, tanking towards her and he's completetley on the wrong side of the road whilst overtaking a truck on the corner. He came within a millisecond of a major head on, and, luckily for him, she was sharp on the brakes. Certainly scared the cr@p out of her.
Little wonder that the police, ACC and other groups are showing anti-biker behaviour when fcuk-wits like this guy are loose on the roads.... OK, rant over !!!

Shhh, you're not allowed to complain about other motorcyclists.

You'll get lectured about your capacity to make the same sort of "mistake".

Glad your daughter's OK.
Hope once the rider has changed their underwear they have a good think about what could have happened.

and if he had hit her and killed her, according to all the bleeding hearts on here, you are supposed to allow the rider his"mistakes"and hope he learns from it.

What fecking "mistake" - the fact that motorcyclists (and they aren't alone) think they are totally bulletproof and can transcend all manner of rational riding?

His (we are assuming it's a he - woman generally aren't that stupid on 2 wheels) only mistake was getting on the bike in the morning!

We have the same problem over here - bullbars aren't just for fending off kangaroos - next time some dickwad comes around a blind corner on my side of the road, I may not move over!

My initial reaction to this thread was that it ain't just motorcyclists with idiots in control. But being a minority our idiots stand out more......

What I hate is that the yellow-line monster has painted that whole damn road.

There are places where a pass can be made safely (crossing the centre line, where visibility is good etc) but they've gone lowest-common-denominator * and just said "nah, nowhere".

And the roads too narrow to pass within the yellow line.

(* which is probably a good thing, in some places.)

OK, rant over !!!I've had the same thing happen while driving my van west on those same corners only it was a car overtaking a line of traffic say 5 cars on blind corner I braced for Impact how he didn't hit me I still don't know. Fuck wits travel on a range of different forms of transport including public.
