It was really cool, favourite fmx show I've been to I think. They jumped a chilly bin, how cool is that!!
I was sooo jealous of the girl who got to backflip with Pastrana. She got to keep all that sweet gear too and she doesn't even ride....:weep:

Anyone know if TP is going to be at Motomart in Lower Hutt?

it was def a good show, but i thnk the fmx was better at crusty demons for sure.
lots more novelty and wak stuff at nitro tho.
it was wiked how tht dude jumped the fence and started running around till he got tackeled by 3 guards, and was being taken away, thn streetbike tommy told the guards to let him go and walked him back into the crowd in true nitro spirit!!!

I took my nephews and a couple of their mates (14-16yrs) They were blown away by it. I think they were the demographic aimed for. I never got to use my camera they hoiked it off me and filled a 4Gig card wanting to capture every moment. Real neat to see kids captivated by real action not xbox fantasy. I thought it was great entertainment (though some of the tricks were a bit samey) and would recommend it thoroughly, even for old farts like me.

I honestly cant believe this show was so enjoyed, the choreography was terrible, the stunts were nothing we haven't seen on their tv show (massive fan), and the constant claims of world firsts were typical american hype... The highlight was the Roller blader and the dude in the chilli-bin on the big ramp.... at least the Crustys had stripper poles and didnt have an annoying Aussie on the mic..... Yawn

Massive part of the enjoyment for me was seeing it live. I find watching TV or youtube coverage FMX nothing like the experience of being there, smelling the (mostly) burning 2 smoke oil, marvelling at the crazy whips and flips....

Well of course I was expecting to see something different thats why we pay money to see it or we'd all sit around home and watch it on TV, just cause its live doesn't make it better, in most cases it makes it look worse, case in point.

HAHAHAHAHA, I knew it and was telling everyone that, her boots had the mark from the gear change and definately were not near new. Also what female just magically get given motorbike gear that fits first time.....
Great show though, I throughly enjoyed it. We were sitting right up the front with no one in front of us so we had an awesome view AND Malcolm came home with (tyre) rubber stuck to the side of his face....

Whats the point of picking holes in the show if you had a good night out?
Whos cares if the chick that did the back flip was a setup, still got you convinced at the time.
Just thinking back, funniest moment was probably the nitro crew doing the haka.

i agree with everyone else - watching it live gives it so much more perspective - personally i thought the trick trains were insane - on a dvd its like 'oh, cool - they probably did a few takes first' but live its right in front of you - ditto for double back flip.
but you do ride a quad so perspective would understandably be different for you :-)

everyone is entitled to their opinions, but i think its rather sad for someone to say that the guys who are putting their necks on the line to do stunts that have no guarantee of sucesss just because they dont bust a 'special, world first' trick just for you and your $70/90/150 ticket. personally, to see cam sinclair bust a double for $90 was some of the best money i'll ever spend - only 3 people doing that on the planet at the moment, you'd be lucky to see that for any money!

Dont worry, Travis didnt turn up to the motomart gig. Went to the Wellington show and had a great night all round. Great show, great atmosphere and by crikey some great T&A too. Some of those trains were insane, seeeing 4 bikes flip at the same time was pretty cool too. The only down side was the crash at the very end, last bike of the night and he gets a little sideways....boom. Poor fella looked pretty sore and for it to be the last jump, bummer. Cheers Nitro for a great night.

If you are a "Massive Fan" then you should have been happy with the fact that Travis and most of the crew were there, minus Andy Bell and a couple others, but that in itself was worth the money.
I have been to every single Crusty show and they are no where near the same level as Nitro, Crusty is so far behind its a joke!

Personally I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the show. I used to skateboard and BMX for many years and was completely amped to see all of that.
As for the motorcross.... Wow - I so want to give that a go!!! I'm new to motorcycling, and have never seen a show like this before - had no interest in it up until a year and a half ago. Now this blows me away, and I was on my feet cheering for most of the night having a blast!
Was completely envious of the girl in Wellington who got to do a back flip with travis.. would have been a moment to remember for sure.

Think the riding a quad line was more about the stereotype a few two-wheeler guys have, that quad riders are generally a bunch of dicks that can't ride properly and aren't too bright. So in essence your opinion would not held in high regard by certain people for this reason.
In your defence you also miss an important point. If you are entitled to voice an opinion, then in return others are allowed to do the same. If that returned opinion should be that your opinion makes you a dick, then by your own rule, it's perfectly valid to someone to express that opinion.
As for personal insults, you can take what was said about you as personal, but then it would be fair to take what you said in return as a personal insult. So if you have a problem with personal insults...
P.S. your troll skills are lame.

North Habour had around 22k, and they had 25k last night, wellington had 18k

We went to Hamilton as it clashed with the rugby 7's in Wellington when it was on in Auckland.
I know that they do possibly hype up "new tricks" etc but there is not a guaranteed result from doing these so on that basis I think that they rocked!
The trick trains were great and to see Levi Sherwood live in NZ up against Travis Pastrana was worth our tickets. :first: The crowd was totally amped and was pretty big! gotta love the "tron" and their love of Motorsports....the supercross held there in 2009 was 100% better than the one in Auckland.
After reading these threads I feel about the evil vibes I was sending the crowd girl!! We did wonder but it is part of the show so again part of the entertainment.
I have been to crusty's and now this...love them both...plenty of love to go around!

It started about 6:30pm in Hamilton, but it does take quite a while to get that many people in the stadium Ticket said to be there by 5:45pm.

Honestly the first half was pretty shit. Could have easily fallen asleep. They really turned it on with the trick train but the BMX'ers and MTB'ers really saved the show. Seen all the FMX tricks before so kinda hard to be impressed. Double backflip and body varial were really the only good ones. Except of course for the rubberkid Levi Sherwood. He is awesome to watch.
Jolene did sweet fuck all and wasn't even at the signing.
Probably didn't help that we were seated fairly low on the far side of the stadium so it made it harder to see and really get into it. Wish they turned off the fkn music so we could hear the bikes as well!

We paid the extra for the main stand tickets as been to similar events and with this type of thing one side always gets more of the action....sorry to say but the bikes sounded great!

hehe yeah, she didn't have a kiwi accent neither.
Sounded Canadian to me, maybe yank, but I'd put money on Canehdia.
If you think about it, I can't imagine them risking picking a stranger to do that kind of trick with.... it would be so much safer with someone practised.
I mean, the chance for her to screw it up BAD is just way too high!
They did an awesome job of the acting with it, but there is no way she wasn't a plant.
Show was okay, I enjoyed it, but I would have rather seen more FMX stuff than all the other crap.
It was funny the randoms stuff they pulled out, like the boogie board... and chilli bin. But I think they had too much BMX and not enough FMX!
The chains were awesome, some of them got so close it was freaky to see, and the tricks I did see were wicked to see in person.
