Yep, she's a bit old and has a few knocks, dings and dents, but I reckon the bolt on accessories are second to none. Must ride this to Parliament at some point.
Now, where can I go for a warrant...??

Ummm, the only warrant you're going to get with that I think is an arrest warrant.

It'll be perfect for the apocalypse. A WOF will be the last of your worries then.

I like that, it looks like it wouldn't fall over. You could replace the MG38 with one of those belt-fed, battery-powered Nerf machine guns for road use.

Great bike eh.
Took the pic today at the Howick Military Tattoo. Its still a runner, was a German SS bike and the sidecar mounted machine gun still goes.
Couldnt get any more pics as it was a very popular display, just like the SS VW Beetle. How sinister must the SS have looked rocking up in a fucking Beetle, imagine the Taliban doing that....
Anyway, the guy said it was a 300cc BMW bike built in 1941. Original frame and engine but other bits rebuilt over the years. The 'youngest' part on the bike was made in 1967. A real classic find. Offered the bloke $50 to let me start it but he achtunged my arse out of there. Mini Max told him he looked like a dork in is German uniform, we swiftly left at that point.
Gotta get me one of them bikes though, wonder if Bodir has one?

I believe that CJ750 is the one that was brought into the country without papers, so you can only redg it as a new vehicle, which would be problematic since the tires, brakes and lighting will not meet the new vehicle regs. Hate to see a KBer getting stuck with a bike that can't be used on the road.

The CJ750s are a pile of, well, frankly, shit.
Ural on the other hand has come a long way in a short period of time.

I have owned a side valve CJ for a bit longer than a year. Its a 1930's technology bike, sure its slow but it has been more fun than a cage of drunken monkeys. Its made it to one brass monkey, rode it there from Chch. When we got there we filled it with firewood and used it to pick up supplies and do donuts in the mud in front of the fire.
A few things have broken, nothing that couldn't be fixed on the side of the road.

I would say about 200kg worth. Which would be quite a lot.

I know that this is a bit late. That particular bike is as genuine as you are likely to see and is the German military BMW 500cc with a driven sidecar wheel [2 wheel drive]. Rumour has it that the owner paid about $40 000 for it. You have to be keen to dress up and reinact the scene. No wonder $50 to start it was laughed at. If you had really been interested and were prepared to talk to a few of the reinactment group they would have been a bit more sympathetic and not treated you as a smart arse.

There was one of those Urals around Tauranga a couple of months ago, used to be parked off First Ave. Saw the guy out once taking his kids for a ride, cool.
