POOOOOS!

With a big grin on my face, I slipped into my leathers this morning, slipped on my helmet and slipped my leg over the Hyosung. As I rode along with big grin spread wide, I went to slip the bike down a gear at the lights. It wasn't to be. Slutting front sprocket nut had decided to SLIP off, consequently causing said sprocket to slip off. As I pushed her off the road with the smile SLIPPING off my face, wondering if the gear box had shit itself etc etc. So anyway long story short I had to walk home (bout 30mins) get my work van, drive out there do some quick road side repairs and take her home. Next weekend I shall join you!

Bugger Autech! Hope you get it all sorted!

It was a great day. 3 of us turned up (plus Beamer89 Mrs) and we tottled off to Little River. Fantastic day. Took the 750 for a spin and he was lovely!

Saw quite alot of bikes on the road, some of them were

Saw 1 police car and we were following them. I tell you there is no way they were doing 100 :shit::facepalm:

I find myself at home alone today so I would have been keen if the bike had been Registered and WOFed, only two weeks to go.
This close to being legit, tempted though I was, I didn't want to go out on the seal and risk a ticket that would mean I had to spend my Rego budget on a fine thus prevent me from having the cash for actually getting the Reg in a couple of weeks.
The plus side is that the wait will make the next ride so much sweeter. :Punk:

Rode to Aka Sunday early morn with Mully, Stilo & a couple of others, came back via Gebbies & Dyers. Here is the situation: Aka road is fine all the way. Just take it easy within about 1 km either side of Hilltop as there's mild grit either side of car tyre tracks and between them. Gebbies is pretty good too - just wish they would sweep the new sealed bit on the hairpin properly. Take care on Dyers as it appears not to have been swept at all. I guess when you are only paying ~600 a year for rego, you can't expect the authorities to do anything to make it safer for bikers. <_<

Thanks for the heads up CJ.

I rode Dyers to Gebbies and back round the bays to port this afternoon. There was some grit on the roads, enough to make life interesting:shit::shit: on some corners. Hopefully we won't get any more snow, so the grit will dissappear with time.

Well the weather is perfect and I can state that there are only 14 lake flies left. The other 18 million committed Hare Kare on my bike and visor yesterday. For all those contemplating a squirt - there was a fuzz on a BMW cruising the Aka road Saturday and reportedly he pulled a couple of bikers. Shopping for a new bike is definitely fun. Have decided to go for a cruiser. Rode the Kwaka Vulcan 900 (maybe go for a Vulcan Custom 900 - looks great), M50 and M90 and then passed by the Harley shop. Took a 1200 Nightster for a ride - I think I'm in love :gob: - never thought I'd like a Harley but the Nightster is one fun bike to ride.

I'm still in two minds though................

You're very lucky to be able to be in that situation! I think that once I took a Harley for a ride, providing it was the right one and a Nightster would definitely qualify, I too think I'd be in love.
I'll have one one day! Either something modern like that one or a classic chopper, something with unique character. If you remember my BMW you'll know what I mean

Good luck with the hunt! Am very jealous!

I can highly recommend the M50, have ridden one myself and know someone that may be selling theirs! Very nice ride and lots of power when needed!

I could not resist - I bought the Nightster (second hand though, 2008 model with only 3 000 km's on the clock). Fetching the bike on Saturday..............can't wait.

Anyone planning anything for tomorrow? Seems like the weather may be smiling on us...

(also, if it's just a "turn up" job, where now - BK @ 11 or otherwise?)

Yes I agree!!!!!!

Tried to change the name of this thread but was unsuccessful. I think the choice is to either create a new thread or continue using this one.

If someone wants to create a Weekend/ Saturday/ Sunday thread then please go for it.:2thumbsup:2thumbsup

Did anyone get out for a ride today? Was miserably cold and overcast here till midday, so went for a wee blat down and back the scenic highway thru loburn later in the afternoon when the sun came out, the road is in good nick and the humps are always fun :innocent:

If I knew you were heading that way I'd have invited you round for a few beers and some whitebait patties.

PM me next time.

That goes for anyone riding through Rangiora. Let me know. I might not have any whitebait but I can definitely put on a couple of cold ones.
