to the radio on the way to work this morning, (the aux input's fuckt).
The cheerfull lady from the Wellington City Council was asking us which of two options we'd like the council to adopt.
1. A reduction in Council services , or
2. An increase in rates charges.
I thought "what a nice lady, fancy being so considerate as to ask us what we want".
Jumped up money grubbing arseholes. They'll all be up agin' the wall when the revolution comes.

now about a reduction in services to the council? Nice the way they imply a reduction in Council services will hurt the rate payer, I bet there is a lot they could reduce with out affecting services to the rate payer and still stay within their means.

I'm just sick and tired of all of the various “authorities” and their lack of accountability.
Where’s the option for, “I just want the basics, here’s a grand.”
PS: “You might want to arsehole anyone on your staff that doesn’t actually produce anything we want.”

I bet a reduction in the mayors pay is off the table.

Local councils are way more corrupt than to Government, well in Aucks anyways.
And horribly inefficient, costs 10 times more than it should for pretty much everything they do.

I love the way those that will never be in a position of having to make the decisions you lambaste are so expert in denouncing those elected to that responsibility.
If you are so expert in areas of local and national governence put yourself up there and lets see if the popolus actually vote for you.

Oh I'm under no illusion I'd make the grade at all, I'm in the habit of generating wealth rather than destroying it to start with.
And then I was never all that good in the "lie like a sausage in fat" thing.
...Or demanding money with menaces. Most other crowds in the business at least have the decency not to deny they're running a protection racket.
