On my way into work this morning at 5.30 i had to go into town to the servo for cough sticks, pulled up to find some Tongan blokes looking a bit worse for wear having a graze in the forecourt,as i went inside one of them asked me for a "ride home" to which i replied "no".Got my smokes and was pulling out then thump into the back of the Ute one of them jumped:blink:thinking wtf i stopped and was just about out the door when the guy stands up and yells something to his mates, silly prick was standing right at the back of the ute so instead of getting out i simply stood on the loud pedal to see him fly off the back over the tailgate back of his head first:woohoo:Jesus the landing must have hurt and he didnt seem to be doing much as i left the servo.Silly bugger.

Seems it was,had a mate ring me this afternoon asking if i was involved, seems the bloke working at the servo found the guys exit off the back of the ute "spectacular" and he didnt know "a neck could bend like that" and had told a few early locals of the event before he finished his shift.Small towns eh.Lucky guy to have gotten away with a bump on his head i would say.
Hopefully it was caught on the cctv and will be all over youtube within a few days..

Tough heads lol.
Funny story involving 3 drunk tongans at spookers.
Don't scare the tongan or he'll chase after you with a sapling, or try dry-rooting the chainsaw guy...

Of course it was your fault
You should have got out and negotiated with him :nono:
May his head hurt on a level that wont have destroyed the single brain cell he "was" using

I've got a funny islander story like that - big hit on the side of the head. thought we'd killed him. stopped breathing for a bit, but we couldn't stick around to find out. interestingly, if i had have had a firearm that night, he would almost definately be dead.

He was Tongan. Being born and bred, in Mangere. I would be more concerned for the forecourt, than his head.

In 1979 when I was fifteen yrs old I ran over an drunk pacific islander outside the old Mt Wellington Trust, while riding a 70's Kwaka H1 triple.
My mate behind me on my GT380 then ran him over too while he lay on the road.
In hospital A and E the island dude had tyre marks on his white shirt that he was wearing in the lounge bar. My mate on the back was a bit head knocked but was fine, I was smarting from lost skin, but the drunk island guy who got smacked by both bikes was walking around (wearing his white shirt with tyre marks) just looking a bit shocked.

Bloody Classic story LOL, have heard many an Ak Cab Driver tell me there's no point smacking a drunk Tongan in the head - the vibration thru the hammer will be worse than they would feel, lol
Hope your Ute is Okay

There are quite a few Tongans living in Oamaru, they are not strangers in the area!
They are also quite good citizens too, certainly not necessarily known trouble makers.

Bought here in numbers a few years back under the guise of working at the freezing works, fucking ridiculous considering theres plenty of blokes here were jumping up and down for a chance to get in there:facepalm:The real reason was simply the bloke doing the hiring (since been sacked) had strong connections with the Nth Otago rugby scene hence the local team become known as Nth Tongaru.Last year or the one before cant remember there was a few sent back as they were here illegally but the preceding years had seen the damage done and there everywhere,no doubt theres plenty of good people amongst them but i have to disagree John many of them cause a shitload of trouble on a regular basis.I find some of thems attitude amazing, they come here then prefer to stick to themselves (no problem)but constantly whinge about not being accepted, there young fellas take all this onboard get fuelled up on a Saturday night and go nuts at the local young blokes, fuck em send them back home i say we really dont need there shit, and it is there shit.
Good job! He was only a Tongan - not as if he was human.

True. Back in the 70s my mate worked at Gillies Foundry after school and made friends with a few who worked there. Pretty good blokes generally.
EDIT: Bastards to play cricket against though. The whole concept of forward defensive was foreign to them. They just wanted to smack the ball over the boundary every time.

Hey, I have no problem with what you did, you played it exactly as you saw it, even if he was Snow white herself, he had no business jumping onto your prized ute!
And, if you had got out and remonstrated with him ... (them before long) we may well have been viewing a very different thread!
As it is, justice was served, irrespective of who what or where and calling the police would just have been a waste of time and energy and most likely exacerbated the situation with an unwanted outcome to boot!
Can't say I like the way NZ has turned out when I compare the way things were in the fifties to what it is like now, especially when we consider our race relations right across the board, it fucking stinks IMHO!
Am I blaming everyone else .. NO .. I am part of the whole thing just by being a New Zealander, (of which I am very proud) it's just that somehow we seem to have lost the bloody plot!
Not a good look. :oi-grr:
