Who has heard the rumour about Harley going to liquid cooling -and possible OHC?
Might as well buy a metric cruiser eh!

You may have misinterpreted that. In HD circles, liquid cooling is more likely to refer to an oil leak onto, or coming from, the cylinder. I think they having been using this technology for years now, but have just re-branded it...

I believe Triumph had the patent on that method ...
the Revolution motor has been watercooled for a while now.

Yep! It was inevitable, shame they couldn't get an exemption. They're slready having some issues due to trying to get the air-cooled motors as efficient as they can.
Knowing Harley, though, they'll do all they can to make it look and sound the same.

My 2004 water-cooled Vrod has had a (non-leaking) radiator since, well, 2004...

HD need to maintain their presence.
I suspect all that expensibe Buell R & D wont be going to waste.

Funny, that. The ONLY Suzuki I ever owned shat itself on the first ride and is still in the shop 6 months later. Putting the rego on hold tomorrow.
Glad I've still got my HD, never had one let me down.

I predict that outwardly they will look the same - fins etc. They may only water cool the heads (I think Kawasaki do this on the big 2 litre V Twin) and have a much smaller radiator discretely placed in the front frame legs.
It won't be called a radiator it will be a 'Harley Davidson performance cooling aid'. You'll be able to buy a larger Screaming Eagle one too if you desire. And genuine Motor Company cooling fluid.
I joke about that but on USA forum I notice that you can purchase genuine Honda everything too - oil, cooling fluid, brake fluid ..... just no tassels.
Just check to see if there's water in it ...
Er, no... just some coolant

No sign of any concern yet on emission and noise from HD in London. HD had a promo site on Canary Wharf (London) last week. This is their target audience - men with lots of disposable income.

Never happen... Harley making a motorcycle with an engine efficient enough to requrie water cooling?!? Don't make me laugh.

Seen some drawings and its a simple exhaust valve cooling system. The external dimensions and look of the engine won't change. There's just a water jacket around the exhaust valve on each head. There'll be two separate tiny radiators and on the tourers they'll be easily hidden in leg sheilds.
It's like the system used on the XR1200 but with water instead of oil.
Of course the article was dated April 1 so it may be a prank.

It's the other way around - the 'other' engines are so inefficient that they DO require water-cooling...:nya::wings:

Porsche has involved in the design, much like the Subaru Legacy Blitzen editions, a Porsche engineer sat on the bonnet of one, may as well claim it.

porsche was involved with evo engine which without doubt is the best engine hd ever made
problem with the twin cams is they were designed to get around noise and emission controls rather than any other parameter - they wanted an air cooled motor that looks like a harley engine and thats what they got
they run so bloody lean to cut down emissions that they overheat which has been an ongoing problem since they introduced the twin cam
the partial water cooling is no joke and porsche involvement with hd is not a joke, its one of the things that turned hd around in the 80's and stopped it going under
