The last time I did this event was in 08. That was the then dubbed T75 when the race was shortened as it was deemed "too hard".
Well as the memory fades I have sort of forgotten why I didn't like this event. Maybe it was because it was like a giant MX race and not really like the T100 from yesteryear when it was a real test of endurance and fortitude.
Anyway Junior says "Hey Dad, if you do it I'll do it and will kick your butt". :gob:
Whats a vet to do. After all I only have to do 3 x laps and he has to do 4 x laps:woohoo:
Anyway who is doing the legendary T100?
We are leaving Friday arvo and coming back on the Saturday after the race and have room for one or two.
Accomodation on the Friday night is paid for as is a full verbal comentary all the way there and back.

There are some advantages to advanced maturity, being a mega vet I would only have to do 2 laps..... next year then, too late for me to get organised now.

I'm predicting a Tarawera 75 again with this rain!

The only reason the 2008 was a T 75 was that riders who couldn't get up the 1 trouble hill were heading off in different directions looking for another track. The marshalls were finding riders going different directions on the same tracks which was eventually going to end messy.
Tomorrows track won't have anything too hard in it from what I'm told. Just a longer laptime

That start had to have been one of the scariest starts ever. Tapped knowing there is a drain but not being able to see it due to roost. Good little pile up going on there to.

A pretty good race all in all. Although my body feels like its been in a concrete mixer.
I got a reasonable start, considering that I had to start way over by the far fenceline and was about 20th through the small drain but lost a few places by going too far up the hill. Thanks for the vid of the start Katoomer. Didn't see all the spills on the ditch as they were behind me. Looks like carnage
Came 73rd according to MY LAPS although I did the 4 laps, they drop off one lap for scoring as we old farts only officially had to do 3 laps:no:. Was about the 40th if you take into account the last lap. Son Logan was talking himself up on the start and it was freakin awesome to let him eat some good ole Tarawera cowshit as he got smoked.
I will take my hat off to him tho as he snapped his clutch lever off at the bolt and virtually did the whole race without a clutch and still finished 104.
Track was bumpy as, but that also made it harder which is not a bad thing at all . Saying that it was still easily rideable(if that makes sense). Numbers were down and hopefully that is purely because of the economy.
T100 still rocks.
