No matter what happens in your life , you have to keep these.... you will regret getting rid of them.
It was really big of you to donate one of your trophies to Mark for his cause, But these ones look (to me) like they are worth much more than a bit of cash. Money comes and goes, your trophies will never happen again, sell your ass instead, it will heal....

I have to agree witht he others.
Most of us riders dream of, and would give our left testicle to go and ride that course on a weekend, let along the chance to race it. Having trophies from an event as prestigious as IOM are an awesome acheivement, and i think that if you got rid of them, youd regret it later.
There are better ways of getting money, than selling the remnants ofyour life's acheivements

Ive been told to shut up about my DREAMS, I;m listening for once. The achievements these puppies represent cost me to earn, now it is time to get on with the next stage and they WILL MAJOURLY help the process:woohoo:
This is not being done by a rash decision nor lack of thought, I can see the path I need to be on and they will aid me getting there. I have a strong healthy happy feeling about releasing them.
I dont need a night out in a cafe guys, IM NOT Hungry for food

agree with ronin............$3750 aint a lot of money in the greater scheme of things whereas your trophys longterm value to ya kids, grandkids etc..........priceless.......assuming you have kids

Whilst I agree with alot that has been said prior....
Do it, if thats what it takes to get the ''next stage'' moving then I believe nothing should stand in the way.....if those items need to go in order for you to better yourself and your life then so be it. Good luck with the sale.

Sorry Dude, I have to agree with what everyone is saying. Don't sell them. I recently lost my Grandfather and the things we found out abut him after he died were staggering. They are worth more as markers of your achievements than any amount of money. If the money is important then try to find a buy back option. My 2c.

listen.
but remember the rule in compromise. Both parties lose something.
If both parties don't lose its called a hostile-take-over.
I shit you not.
There is a reason why I currently ride the 1987 Budget Express. And it has nothing to do with its fine styling. But the family know when the time comes it will become a new bike.
as for selling family heirlooms......your nuts. these trophy's are a sunk cost, and hold more value to you than a couple of K.
Hell you can't even fly to the Isle for that price.

I have ONE WINNING trophy left here and that STAYS HERE for my DAUGHTER Folks.
I have NO money left and need to do this to get back into the life I want to be living- this sale is about completeing the RE-Build of Shaun Harris and it feels as powerfully positive inside as my day at the TT did in 2003:yes:
I have got friends around me that have and still do help me hugely and wiped my arse for 4 years now ( Sorry for all the texts mate:yes:) I need to make ME PROUD again! some thing I have NOT been for 4 years.
I have always been a fighter and the person I have been living as, has finally gotten the other me pissed off:yes:
I finished reading 2 books last week that acted like DOORS for me, each centence each page each chapter just showed me how pathetic and weak and non-constructive I am being and what I need to do to Proove to Myself to myself again.
A Brain injury as serious as mine was will realy screw you up ( AS MANY OF YOU HAVE SEEN ON HERE ) It has cost me more than 99% of you will ever know or could ever imagine, I am going out to get ME back then come fighting to get my girls back ( We are together but in a strange way)
So I;m NOT actually selling history from my family, I am using these items as TOOLS to build the Future
I have a man that I respect hugely in the USA who is very interested in them but cannot commit untill this Thursday USA Time, it would be way cool if they went to him, he is like a GOD to the race scene in the USA as far as I am concerned, so they will be in a happy place

Nah, I understand what the NO SELL posts are about, it is simply that they have NO idea how hard things have been, I am a pretty good pretender really who has tried to be as positive in out going actions as I can. Well now it is time to change things, and change them I WILL!

I don't have enough coin to grab your IOM stuff. But I am sure I could scrounge up some coin to start the bidding on some signed Shaun Harris Memorabilia. Even if it is junk and broken bits of fairing. I am sure KB members would help also.
Even if you do sign stuff like a retard now :corn:
Lets raise the bar a bit - I reckon you could get 5K within 2 weeks.

I have followed this thread with much interest, I am the guy that done the deal with Shaun, these trophies ARE NOT FOR SALE and Shaun as 5 years in which to buy them back if he so wishes, if they had gone on ebay they would have been out of Shauns hands forever, btw, I am no toff with a private collection, I am a TT race fan and a TT marshal, as I live in the UK it is much easier and cheaper for me to get to the Isle of Man, I have been over for 30 TT's. (25 as a Marshal). Like I said, I am no toff, and I used the money I had saved up towards another bike, if Shaun uses the money paid to him, helps him once again to fullfill his dream, then I am happy for him. Rest assured, a deals a deal and Shaun as not given up his trophies forever.

Toaster knows first hand what brain injury means for a family man, Shaun. Families often don't survive the aftermath and I only hope you can rebuild your family relationships if they have been damaged by it all. If you need someone to talk to who does know, I'm sure Cam wold be very happy to hear from you. All the best!
Go grab a vivid, and look around the shed for broken bits of bike. Sign your name on them and chuck em up on trademe.
Nahh man he's onto something -sighned memorobelia has value nowadays
Sure has, and you don't need to think of it as a cop-out either. Makes good business sense!

Brain Injury and Families
Fiona my lady and my little girl Petra as well as Anja- Bevan- Avon and Friends all lost the Shaun They know, and Shaun Just lost Shaun and a way of earning money and fighting in the game of life the way he always has and loves being a part of.
To get up in the morning thinking about a Root or a Bike or a race or a buisness earning idea has been a thing that has happened in my life for ever and I have done one or the other all day every day untill the Head Injury.
As the healing process moves along BINGO, One day you wake up and feal good to go again:yes: believing all is good and planned:sunny: Then the text and Phone calls Internet and email starts and all is a box of roses or so you think:facepalm:
Maybe seconds or minutes or days weeks months later you read a reply, and realise that you have screwed up AGAIN ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------and AGAIN, and I HATE TO FAIL:angry::angry::angry:
So back to realising and accepting that you/I/ One of ME is still screwed up and then I reached out and found the MEDICATION I needed to BALLANCE the chemicals in me:woohoo::sunny::woohoo::sunny::woohoo:
My Head Injury is OVER NOW! Yes I will still be improving/Growing/Catching up every day, but all is 100% In CONTROL NOW.
I Have Fiona my Lady and My Girl Petra and Anja and Bevan and Avon i my life everyday still:sunny: I Honestly thought I had LOST FIONA untill last Sunday, I GOT THE BIGGEST CUDDLE AND KISS- She said
: WELCOME BACK SHAUN:
I am crying write NOW:violin: this is the truth and FUK I/WE HAVE WORKED SO HARD TO GET BACK HERE I AM NEVER GOING TO FAIL AGAIN
But Man this whole LEARNING LESSON HAS BEEN SO WORTH IT DUE TO EVENTS LIKE HIS HAPPENING:sunny: It is almost like I needed to crash and loose my life too learn a bit more.

Didn't that poem about being a man go like, "If you can meet with success and failure and treat those two imposter's just the same..."?
You didn't fail, mate, you got taken out and blindsided and you've met the challenge of rebuilding yourself physically and mentally from something that should have killed you and may definitely have killed lesser men!
This shows your heart and your strength and you need never apologise for being a failure to anyone. Cherish your family and your friends who have stood by you and know you have much to be grateful for and be proud of in your life - yesterday and today.
