Really? I personally find that surprising. I had a great experience with them. price was great, and I am sure he worked longer than he charged me for, even though unexpected things happened and he had to work on it much longer than anticipated.

The guy went out of his way to come in on an early saturday morning to finish off the job so I have for the weekend...

I think you will find on his forums you are probably the exception to their great service. not the rule.

I'm yet to use his services, but from what I hear on here and from my mates he sounds like a good guy.

I've had MD come at all sorts of times, with multiple calls to check up on how things are going afterwards. Find it hard to believe this is the whole story.

I grew up in the motor industry.

There is usally 2 sides to every story - this is one of them but there will be another one as well.

Not saying its bogus but a tad hard without some detail on what needed doing to what. ie if you called him out to restart your 1958 BSA he might not have been carrying points for the magneto....

Very true.... I don't know what happened in this particular case, but from previous experience regarding motorcycles. You hear one story and you are like :gob: then when you hear the rest you are like  your head ...... original story teller should have just  .

Again - might not be the case here, but I've seen it A LOT!

I don't believe this for one second,I have used MD quite a few times, and they have always been really great, and they always go the extra mile for their customers.

I find this feedback odd.. I've just used the Moto MDs for the first time this week, exceptional service, price, a decent yarn as well. Not saying you're a liar, but could you elaborate?

I've used MD a few times now and will add my +1 for great service from MD. As others have already said, there are two sides to every story and further detail needs to be provided here.

wait, so they repaired it, the problem returned, and when you asked them to come back and look at it again, they arrived early, and youre complaining? what are you complaining about?
Ohhh, I get it, you made a whole brand new account just to complain?
fuck off.

Ive not used George but, I rung him a while back about my bike. He worked on it a year back for the old owner. He remembered they couldnt afford to fix the carbs so he did the best he could with them. And could remember what the faulty part was. Good really. And he was right.

+ 1 on that! He ''named and shamed'' with very skant detail but is not man enough to say who he is. Thats despicable.

There will be a second side to the story and it will likely be very plausible.

I agree. Wonder how much "work" the OP did on the bike.

Ive got a warranty claim on something ive bought recently, maybe I should winge online first? Because its a manky thing to do is why. Give them a chance to fix it first.

My guess my warranty will be sorted quickly because I wont be on the attack. :woohoo:

I am sure the OP read that and agreed its quiet reasonable and we probably wont hear from him again. shame really... I wanted to know the rest of the story!

They may have been busy at the time and I would expect their policy is not to wait around when there are other fee paying customers awaiting service.

Your 15 minutes early is probably closer to 5 minutes early. I wouldn't have made them wait and given them the opportunity to leave

A 1958 bike may have a many issues contributing to the undescribed problem.

I have heard many good things about these guys and will not be negatively influenced by this post.

I've used him, I reckon he's bloody good. They were going to be a bit late so he rang to say so, most tradesmen don't. They did a great job, very tidy, gave great advice, talked about future service needs, bill was very reasonable. OP shot down big time!

Road Rocket – Sorry you had a bad experience with us. However, I have checked our books for the last 6 months and can find no record of the problems with your bike. Please can you contact me (George) so we can discuss the problem and when this occurred or if you prefer, write on the forum.

I don't see what the OP was on about regarding customer satisfaction. From what it seems like they go out of their way to make a customer happy.

Otherwise MD wouldn't have posted here.

I have personally used Geroge for a number of big and small motorbike service jobs and can also vouch that his service has been outstanding. If something he should charge more. Also I know at least 20 of my close friends are using his services and always rave about the great service.

Always had A+ in my book.

Keep on the good work George.

"called them to get them back again they arrived 15min earlier than appointment time"
"it's hard to get them back again"
:rolleyes::scratch::weird:

It sounds like after being contacted they did come back again!

I gotta wonder if Road Rocket is actually a competitor that is trying to besmirch MD's good name because he lost a customer to him? I don't think it's working though, one negative comment from someone with 1 post on KB, a bunch of positive comments from people with 1000+ posts on KB - I wonder which comments we'll give more credence to?

This thread served as a useful reminder of two things:

1) Even great outfits can attract muppets for customers
2) I needed to book George in for a service.

Can't do much about (1) but the service is booked to happen this Thursday. I try to put my money where I trust it will be of most use, and George gets my money.

I wish I had 20 close friends, what's your secret?

As a tradesman, I can second the comments saying there are always two sides to the story. In most cases, the tradie is going flat out working as hard as he can to do the right thing by his/her customers. If there has been a problem with customer service it will not be left unsorted for long I wouldn't think.

I've never used MD, but it sounds like I should! What are Georges rates and what does he specialise in?

Can you please PM me your contact details or post them up here? I work in Albany and need work done from time to time (as you do). Getting it done while I am at work means I dont have to drive my poxy car to work on days my bike is in the workshop.
