Four or five years ago I rode down to Hanmer for the weekend.
I found a shop (more like a museum) which had all sorts of memorabilia, world war two search lights, tools, cars and all manner of incredible stuff. It was amazing and it was run by a real cool old guy who gave me a guided tour of the place and we spent about two hours there talking to him and listening to him about how got some of his collection.
Is he still there? I have googled and can't find a trace of him but he is real old school and I don't reckon a website would be in his mindset.
We are going down to Christchurch again soon and the first place I am going is there. (hopefully he is still going or I won't go to Hanmer).
Can any local Christchurch guys enlighten me?
Cheers:niceone:

I've not been up thre for a year or so - was there last visit. By the service station, which is next to the bakery, on the conical hill road.

Sounds like a good excuse to head back for a spin.
