Selling my SRAD as I've got a new track bike and the misses thinks 4 bikes is excessive - WTF

It's been on the track for a couple of years and is happiest when Screaming.

I've put it back into road mode and just got a new WOF for it, rego's still on hold.

Comes with, yosi pipe/DID chain/Oggy Knobs/ Pirellii Supercorsas/ Sintered brakes/ workshop manual and full set of carbon fibre race farings [and spare tank + pillion seat]

It takes a couple of hours to change it from Road mode to Track Mode

Happy to part with it for $6K

Still goes great and it's insane at 12000RPM

Translation: Here's a fast 13 year old bike that's been raced and had it's nuts revved off regularly and I want someone to give me 6 grand for it.

It's a nice bike mate, but 6k? Good luck.

I agree with you, but to go and post it is a dickhead move dude. It will either sell or it wont. If you arent interested, why take the time to piss on it?

I was thinking $6K is optimistic too. But the carbon body work is prolly worth a bit, and the road gear looks mint. Will likely sell for close to what he wants, and more power to 'im.

But I've been thinking about what we pay for all sorts of things and comparing them with what it costs overseas. Google the same model bike ( or any bike ) for sale in the USA then convert the currency, add a grand to ship it and 15% for GST and you'll probably still be getting it 30-50% cheaper. The prices here are so distorted if it wasn't such a tragedy it would be laughable.

Also add a new head light to the cost, as the US one will point the wrong way.

The market here for motorcycles would be less than 30-50% of that in the states, and the prices we pay reflect such.

Anything is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it, so I don't really get why you have chosen to bitch about it on this chaps ad for selling a bike. Were it cheaper would you be interested in buying it? If so, make him an offer. Otherwise, shut up.

or I could just keep it - what's better than 3 bikes? 4!

Have you got your period or something?

I was merely pointing out my opinion about the price of bikes in general, using this bike as an example. He should thank me for directing traffic to his ad! As for things being worth what people are prepared to pay for them, yes that's true in a sense but we are conditioned to accept the prices we pay for things as long as that's what we are used to.

Yes, if it were a grand cheaper, I would be interested in the guys bike. But it's not, and that's what got me thinking about price in general.

Sorry. I wasn't aware you were in charge of the internet. You must be very important and I'm sure your mother is very proud of you. I'll just shut up then.

The man probably has had more experience with them than you have fella, not all of us are as lucky as you to have the one and only Mrs Palmer as a life long partner.
And I would think is mother is very proud of him, all mothers are proud of their children, I feel sorry that you have never had a Christmas, been an orphan and all.

I tried to be subtle..

Great bike for the track, followed it thru the slalom, light and fast.
Plenty of extras, I'd be quite happy to fly this bike round the tracks.
Also a great 'commuter' :-)

Did I just see this bike go up Queen Street at 5-6pm tonight?
