Me old bike sometimes wont start on the starter when hot. Turns over fine but wont fire. Did it last night, so I crash started it and it was fine. Cant see how its amp draw on starter as my bike has a separate stator for ignition. Ideas?

If you can bump start it... Where's the problem?!?

I found that if you cant Jump/Bump/Electric start it, THEN you have problems

Pays to check fuel level

unrelated really, but on my SRX600 it is very very hard/impossible to start when it is inbetween cold and hot..

Some old fellas called it "being in limbo"... never got a proper explanation for why it wouldn't start though, starts fine when hot or cold, just not when warmish

Unrelated to your problem though, sorry.. haha

Whats your idle set at?
I set mine as low as I can but sometimes when the bikes hot it idles a little under where I have it set and dies and can be a real pain to fire up, could be the cause also?
just a thought

Haha, cheers mate :) I will do, summer times a coming so will surely be doing some out of town rides.

I am heading up to chch this weekend for some racing action but its a bit of a rushed trip so won't have time for a stop this time, next time.

Same applies to you if you ever find yourself in Dunedin

My Gixxer does the same thing, real cunt to start sometimes, we narrowed it down to weak coils, heat soak etc.
