Decal on aluminium?

I'm prepping the panels for the Hyosung cup,

I was thinking of getting some thin aluminium sheeting and bending/cutting that to shape in order to cover the headlight gap.

Would I have any problems with getting the orange number backing decal to stick to aluminium? Or will I have to treat it (primer or something) in order for the decal to adhere?
