I recently swapped a bike for a scooter and had some interesting experiences.

Here's the AN125 (http://kiwiridermagazine.blogspot.com/2011/11/an125-adventures.html) in gory detail: The tardis seat, the MENSA puzzle and the feeling of air between your knees....

Who else has gone between automatic/ manual and tank to thin air?

from BMW K100RS to Burgman 400 and now to Boulevard C50.

Guess you could say I been there and back.

Certainly miss my Burger sometimes but love my Boulevard too.

They are fun tho.... I was in Thailand a few weeks ago and spent two days thrashing around the back roads on a similar sized Honda with my wife and have never had so much fun! Easily hold there own on the traffic light drags, can get up hills (some were steep) have good rear vision (a real neccessity there as passing is on the basis of "Look, a gap!") great fuel economy, one day we used a whole 3 litres, and far more capable on a mixture of terrain than I expected.
They do feel a bit odd with the little wheels but once you realise they can drag hard parts and you don't get into big countersteering moves its all good, the scoot handled gravel, sand and the odd field or two (something about "I want a picture of that elephant") but was crap at riding down stairs, kept getting stuck and I had to pick it up and carry it.

Highly recommended, break out your sense of fun and lose the "I'm a serious biker" attitude and have a ball.

Good review Hanne!
