So. How do I find out what type of RAM this puter uses - short of yanking the panel off and having a looksee? System just tells me how much is in there (not enough it seems), not what type...
Any ideas?
Ta.

Check on the net what the maximum ram is your pc will allow, then buy faster ram to the maximum capacity, eg 2 slots / max 4 gig = 2 x 2 gig 1600mhz.

DDR is ancient. I doubt any computer that uses DDR RAM will be able to play Crysis 2. It's not a good idea to mix rams either as you may run into issues if you run different timings and/or voltages.

It plays OK as long as I make sure the cache is empty first. Some heavy duty scenes get a little jerky but.
Yes, it's an old puter. But it pretty much belongs to the business now even though it did start out as my personal machine. I have a better one at home but play games here at work when the going is slow. Since this puter will stay here when I move on I just make the best of it. Not spending more money on this business anyway - it has already sucked up too much of my personal value...
Worst comes to worst, I'll move the game home.

I spent all this week stuck on one mission - got wasted by those friggin' aliens all the time. Then I eventually figured out what I had to do and found where I had to go to do it and it all fell into place. Finally...

The game can be quite frustrating at times, I too got stuck for quite a while. It's still not as bad as the original Crysis where I got stuck for over an hour then gave up.

Good news is RAM is cheap. DDR3 is the way to go so it means a new motherboard. But they are cheap as well. And since your getting a new motherboard you might as well get a new CPU (because it will probably be a different socket) and then you will probably need a new Graphics Card as the mobo will take PCI-E and not AGP. And hey look there goes $500!
And then you realise your HDD is fkn slow. And those have double in price since the flooding in Thailand.
Now you have a sweet PC that can run Crysis 2 really well. You just can't see it through that shitty monitor.
Oh look there goes 2 grand just to play a game
Computers suck! just kidding they are awesome

Hehehe. Been there done that many times in the past.
I could always bring the home puter here to work and set it up on another desk just to play Crysis 2...if I had another desk that is. Oh and somewhere to put it...
