Te Whiti park off riverside drive in Waiwhetu is a good start you can get a bike around the gate park your wagon a block away outside the flash'est house in the street & they will keep an eye on it 4 ya.

Hahaha...nice one. I grew up riding those fire breaks as a kid on my RM400. Now I've gone full circle and own an RM400 again, I'd love to go up for a rip.

You used to be able to get access from Parkway in Wainuiomata without too much hassle. You'd be better off contacting the Wellington regional Council though and getting a (free) permit to ride in the Karapoti's, off Akatarawa Road in Upper Hutt. That way you're less likely to have the Council on your arse, have a head-on up the firebreaks or even come across a P-fried escaped convict who wants to shoot you - all of which has happened up in the Hutt hills.

I used to dream about doing that on the 'shirtfront' in 1973ish. On a TS125...I don't think so....

Oh don't worry. It may well have been an RM250, but the landing went real bad, and it nearly cost me my right arm. Couldn't have done much worse on a TS!!!

I had a similar effort heading up Summit on my 82 YZ250. Big air off the top, fire break kinks right. Landed square in the gorse, nothing but net. Took me an hour to get my bike out with an axe.
