I tried to access my You Tube account this morning from the home computer and I had to log in using a google password instead of my usual tried, true and trusty You Tube combination.

Needless to say, being afflicted with senile dementia, I had no idea what the fuck was going on and couldn't remember ever even having a google account for anything. Had to fart around with resetting passwords and all that jazz...

Did I miss something? When did Google gobble You Tube?

Google acquired Youtube in 2006 but have only just changed the layout. Not sure why your login would have changed to your google one. Maybe a glitch in the system

it changed because they are synchronising them
dont have to but now one login for gmail and youtube (and probably others)

I am realising that this is true. I opened a gmail account a couple of days ago for a specific purpose. That'll be why they got linked.

There is an 'edit channel' button that allows you to revert to the old layout if you want.

I quite like the new one - I'm just in the process of making all my sites kinda match.

There is also a multiple sign in option if you have more than one google account.

You just have to be smarter than the system slofox :-)
