My oil leak on the Tequila Sunrise (OK, my Harley!) turned out to be caused by the front pulley coming loose and wrecking the seal behind it.
The gear-box bearing I was worried about turned out to be undamaged.

And if you know big-block Harleys access to said pulley does not come easy...$$$$!:pinch:

I have not seen it but I believe it's the front drive pulley.

I left it to the experts this time as I was really thinking that bearing had gone west, never even thought that the pulley could come loose.

1st 'failed to proceed' (well technically I could have kept riding it) since I got it, not done many km, about 45,000 - 50,000 from memory, every one of them eventful!:2thumbsup.

Yeah does sound bit on odd side . Had one of my ducati's years ago develop a slight rattle at certain rpm's ......ended up being a slightly loose fly wheel ...hadn't been torqued up correctly at the factory , only started to noticed it after 20000km.
