Hey is there anywhere around Wellington, or the closest place i could go to practice?

Thinking about converting again to a motard but would really like to get some track practice in.

Yeah same!
I know that the buckets used to run a motard class at the slipway track, now they're at the kaitoke kart track I dont think they do - certainly not the days I was there watching recently.
May be worth contacting the bucket guys though - they might have a motard day...?

Other option if my wheels are here and on in time is the Pacific club track day at Manfield on the 14th. - Not exactly local (I'm in Pram) but could be fun.

I have noted that Vic club dont run motards anymore sadly, so I was wondering what class my soon to be motarded DR650 bike will fall under? F3 as its a single maybe? or in with the 600's? maybe even the F1's - eek! Would it even be eligable for pro twins ?

Sorry to hijack the thread with those questions, but I'll certainly need some practice anyway!

The Pacific Club run a Motard class as part of the Summer Series. These are between Manfeild and Taupo. There is the Track Day on the Saturday followed by racing on the Sunday, here's a link to the dates for the Summer Series: http://www.sportsground.co.nz/files/Site/130/95/Pdf/110831185638ZZKENQYP.pdf and here's some more information : http://www.sportsground.co.nz/files/Site/130/95/Pdf/110927211244KCXFVIXM.pdf

Also the club runs hillclimbs in summer, which is open to type of bike. These are usually based around Napier & Hastings area. Next Hillclimb is Sunday 11th March, Seafeild Road. The road is just north of Napier. Keep an eye on www.pacclub.co.nz for other events

Things have changed, motards are not allowed in F3 these days.

I havn't had the time lately to get up there, but tomorrow i'm going to make time and see what the score is.
I havn't got a motard yet, i'm just trying to find out a few places i can practice first before i get into
buying one.

Kart club has a club day Sunday afternoon, so come up then and check it out. There will be bikes racing.
Going up on a random day probably won't help you, it's a locked location.
