Shit. 2007 was a good year though - Tool, Muse, The Crystal Method, Violent Femmes. This year there's really only Sound Garden. But still, that's the reason there's not going to be anymore BDO's in NZ.

Plus ticket prices, false announcements, suppression of artists etc. Probably a good thing it's ending here.

Now they're giving away free entry if you have a former ticket/tee-shirt/memorabilia.

Sux4u if you paid $175.

I'm not surprised the BDO died. Too bloody expensive.

Well worth the cost when the line up is decent. Shit I'd pay $175.00 to see Tool only. This year one of the headliners (who didn't come here) was some clown called Kanye.

I dunno man, it was like Tool chucked on an ipod of their shit and went through the motions at the last BDO.

My opinion.

2006 was probably my fav. One of the times I didn't get sucked into the boiler room.

White Stripes
Iggy and the Stooges
Franz Ferdinand
Kings of Leon (meh)

$170? Fuck yeah.

2011 best Big Day Out ever, Airbourne got the mosh pit pumping early on in the day (their live show is intense!). All decent bands and Rammstein was the greatest thing I have ever experienced in my life, not a word of english yet everyone enjoyed the show (even my mum said they were her highlight from up in the stands).

That's amazing the difference in the size of the crowd,i guess that explains it's demise.

This is what happens when you get bad acts to show up. This years acts were rubbish.

You're all wrong, '97 was the best year.

I was bummed that Sepultura and The Jon Spencer Blues explosion didn't make it, but that disappointment was utterly quelled by this lot:

Soundgarden (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soundgarden)

The Offspring (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Offspring)

The Prodigy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Prodigy)

Fear Factory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fear_Factory)[A] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Day_Out_lineups_by_year#endnote_Sepultura)

Supergrass (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supergrass)

Shonen Knife (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shonen_Knife)

There's been nothing like it since. Fear Factory burned a hole in my soul.

Kind of overshadowed by Rammstein who were insane. Tool is my favorite band so even the experience of listening to and seeing them live was enough.

It's ok, I saw Foo Fighters, Supergrass, Prodigy and Beastie Boys in Reading that year :D (or was it 98???)

Offspring would have been choice!

Yah, Rammstein killed it.

You... went with your mum?

You... went with your mum?

...and my dad, and my brothers. They drove me there and back. I have no stigma about that, my parents aren't squares. Once we got to BDO we went our separate ways. I feel sorry that your parents are boring.

They enjoy concerts and music as much as any other person, why can't they go to the same concert as me?
