I did not think BT would pull out of the aussie series but it looks like he will if the rumours are true to run the full schedule, Chad must have some pull and i would put a bit of a sly bet on him racing a couple of SX's in aussie at the end of the year,

it will be interesting to see BT on a full factory bike, when he raced there in 2010 it was not a full factory effort with all the suspension/efi/chassis specs and people to change them at the races, and he podiumed then, and nearly won a race as well,

From an Aussie site:

Former MX2 World Motocross and AMA East Coast Lites Supercross Champion Ben Townley has been linked to a shock switch to TwoTwo Motorsports for the upcoming Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship.

Townley could be joining Chad Reed’s team for the 2012 outdoors in the U.S, released from his contract with the Australian Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing team.

It’s believed that Townley was permitted to switch from the Australian team to TwoTwo late last week, however personal sponsorship deals were still to be finalised as of Friday afternoon before a deal is locked in.

Reed isn’t expected to return until late in the outdoors, if at all in 2012, with Townley long being a leading candidate for the seat if TwoTwo is to compete for the outdoor title.

If Townley does in fact move to TwoTwo and abandon his MX Nationals assault, it’s expected that Honda satellite rider Tye Simmonds could be first in line to take over the team’s MX1 seat alongside Brad Anderson.

However, sources from within the Carlton Dry Honda operation have suggested that they’re hoping Townley will still compete in the opening rounds of the MX Nationals, which kicks off at Conondale in Queensland on 1 April.

Good for BT, but bad for photography in NZ, it's been an awesome shooting summer.....

For 22 racing to grow he needed a winner was my take, the question will be how bt handles not leading, if he can avoid over cooking it catching back up, dang will be a great season for him I reckon.

To be honest given the work he has put into his riding seriously pleased for bt eh, he so deseerves this opportunity the way he has come back from some nasty runs of luck.

Im so stoked about this! BT rode so well in the outdoors back in 2010. After the last couple of years the prospect of seeing him back seemed remote at best. Looking forward to the season, Supercross has become a one man show with injuries and such.

Yeah it is soo cool to have BT racing on the premier stage...but to be honest a group of us were looking forward to a quick trip across the ditch to see him race. Fly into Sydney, rental car to a days racing and then the red eye home.
Probably a once in a lifetime for a few due to the cost.

I think we will all forgive him tho as he will deliver !! Go BT101!!
