Was mucking about in googles android play store and placed the word speed in the search and found two kool apps

Speedview and Speed Hud - would not have worried buying a Trail Tech speedo for me motard setup if had comne across these apps before hand, they probably exist on apple gear etc too.

Handy for all sorts of things - just finished logging mountain bike ride , said to the Mrs can test the g force of her old mitzi when we go out for tea tonight :D

Problem with those apps is the minimum accuracy is 50m so the speed updating is slow. Not bad for checking the accuracy of your own speedo though if you can hold a particular speed for some distance.
Just playing with trapster at the moment which has a speedo function as well as the speed trap finding/reporting as well.

I'm using a Galaxy S1 by the way, GPS is ok, but accuracy is around the 25 - 50 metre mark. May be more accurate in other phones.

I use Ulysse Speedo Pro. It's a great piece of software which can also measure the 1/4 mile time, but as has already been pointed out, the time to update the speed is slow so I doubt it will be accurate for that. It's still an excellent piece of kit for doing speed runs in a car, with a bike it's a bit harder to do as the GPS signal strength fades if it's left in your pocket or glovebox.

Think it more down to the app over the phone - speedview ya can set the accuracy down to 10m.

Had it cranking yesterday inside passport holder pouch that I sling round my neck under t shirt and worked great, on start up seen so far it has detected upto 9 satellites, seems the best out of the two I mentioned so far, speedhud has the g-force meter though.

Had it set at the standard 200m setting and yep there seemed to be a delay at times compared to my truck speedo (Not to sure how accurate it is) - will give the 10m setting ago.

The paid pro version have to be the ducks nuts if the freebie anything to go by ....
