To all KR 150 or 2 smoker equivelent owners.
What is the go fast juice of choice for these wonderful wizz bang bikes of ours?
I am currently running unleaded 91 as I was told this by previous owner and cant find anything in manual about what fuel to run. Is there any advantage to running 96??
Also what sort of oils do you run.
Cheers! :ride:

in my NSR250SP I always ran it on 96+ and the best fully synthetic oil. I used Castrol TTS for a while (good but not the cleanest burning), after that I always used Elf Moto2 XT Tech fully synth. $25+/litre.
Most 2 strokes are pretty low compression and don't really need high octane fuels as the higher the octane the slower it burns. Although if your bike needs it, higher octane helps prevent detonation (by slowing down the burn), which can blow holes in pistons etc.
Best to try both and see if you notice any difference.
I have an Honda Accord SIR with some mods and it loses about 10hp on 91 octane, really stunts the power but then its got high compression and advanced timing and its a cage so doesn't count :nono:

I run my RG on 91 and regularly bounce off the limiter with no problems.

Do a site search on the word "octane". Theres a lot been written about it.
Basicly, if your bike runs good on 91, stay on 91! (unless you plan on doing hotup mod to it.)
Useing 96 will only cost you more $$$ for no extra power.
Having said that, I use 96 (and will soon the using Race gas) in my race bike, due to it detonating with 91. But I change jetting/ air mix etc and basicly create lots of problems for myself in the search for that last half a HP.
Just keep your bike standard, run it on 91, and have fun!

91 unless you have raised the compression,
for oil, Castrol TTS or any other synthetic that says injection friendly on the back.

Cool.
Think I will stick to the tried and true combo that I am currently on, 91 with castrol TTS
Cheers guys!

I have just brought a KR150, and also askd the question of what fuel to run.
Its best to stick with 91 as its all the bike needs, would not use most 96's as they are sometime lower octane with additives, but there should be no problem using 98 if you want to spend the extra and your garage sells it, but it will only slightly increase preformance or so i am told.

Mine has been tuned O_o
96 and Motul 600
Keep running TTS and you'll have to decoke your chambers at some point.
