Granted...but for someone coming from Whangarei, its more like 850 Kms, and at legal speeds, in the middle of winter...see where I am going with this?
Close to 660 Kms for us.
Its all about the getting there and kicking back for a night at the beach with hot food/women and drink....cant beat it.
Possibly some home made chocolate as well...:corn:

I am in Te Awamutu, unfortunately, am working nights that weekend. but may come for a ride out to Kawhai in the afternoon. I'll post my mob no closer to the trip. If anyone comes unstuck and needs a trailer, somewhere to leave a bike or whatever, I can help out there.

I'm thinking of just bringing a sleeping bag and a tarp, snuggle the bike under the tarp. When it gets cold just fire the bike up for a few minutes and there's a heater :bleh:

The list of things to get the bike back to absolute 100% isn't too much, but I've decided that I wont be putting it back on the road, I'd rather start saving for a 600 for the road and turn the 250 into a track bike.

In the meantime I'm gonna strip the 250 back down to bare frame again, and take my time with the rebuild, doing everything properly instead of rushing it due to transport needs.

Don't forget the lemon curd. I'll be making cases and meringue hats later in the week.

Sabine, I'll have some without hats for the fruit and chocolate.

As mentioned on the first post...the Blue Chook Inn (just down the road from the camp site) sound the better out of the two food outlets in Kawhia to graze.
I will ring them today to let them know that there could be a party of 13 + in for a feed next Saturday night.

Is that ok? Or....does everyone just want to look after themselves?
I don't want to sound too regimented but I also don't want people left wondering either.

Breakfast on the Sunday is easy...theres a Roadhouse on the way into Kawhia which we will use on the way out...with petrol.

Just spoke to Babara from the Blue Chook and she will do a roast beef/veges and desert/s set menu, with the option of choosing off the main menu if you so wish..
Set menu could be around $25 per head

Also spoken to Bronwyn at the camp...all is good, seems we have newhere as our night neighbour ...
They have a bit of flooding recently but all the accommodation is fine, the TV lounge is in need of a carpet refit....:corn:
There is still room for a few more late comers if need be.

That all sounds rubbish. Please change it all immediatly to something totally different. Unless there's peas, in which case it's ideal.

Just because I can haul a bit doesn't mean it's fully laden, especially for 2 days :eek5:

Riding through rivers and rough stuff taught me that :sweatdrop I'll even pay for linen, I don't like cramming into a sleeping bag all that much.
