View Full Version : The best feeling in the world...

These are all from personal observation, prompted by a discussion I had with a friend a couple of nights ago... what really ARE the great pleasures in life
Pondering things (as one does form time to time...) I came up with a short list of experiences in life that beat all the others... in no particular order...
* That just pre orgasm tingling when you feel the train coming from about 10 seconds away... and you know it AIN'T going to stop, and this one is going to hit HARD
* Orgasm itself.
* "Getting" a zit - when the little bastard leaps out (sometimes with that satisfying 'dip' noise. Espcially good if it's been eluding you
* The relief of having a pee when you're ab-so-lute-ly BURSTING
* A good stinky fart (why don't I mind mine... but anyone else's STINK?!?)
* The first 30 mins of a good beer buzz. You're over the limt, you know it, and you are just SO FUNNY (wel you hope you are). The room swims - just enough to make it fun, conversation is harder to follow and if you're in a loud pub you're buggered...
* Stepping out off a cliff with a paragliding canopy over you and feeling that lift kick in
* Setting off a BIG explosion
* That adrenaline shot just after a near death experience (just missing an accident or similar)
That's the list off hand for me... what do you guys/gals reckon?

Yeah - adrenaline in particular (the rest of them are pretty much an excuse or mechanism to release it!).
unless you're referring to that one time I tried to fart so hard actually.. fluid... let's stop there shall we?

My little great pleasure... having my first smoke of the day after I've arrived at work and getting a head rush... take a deep breathe in and close your eyes as you let it out and it feels like your surfing the perfect wave except a lot smoother...

I think they mostly all fit into the adrenalin mould... but I'm interested in what kicks off that adrenaline... and as you say - that wicked "nailed it" feeling...

Okay...what about the peaceful serenity that comes AFTER something - albeit orgasm, nailing a corner perfectly, riding a wave better than you ever have before, gliding and feeling the wind more accurately, etc. That's pretty cool - not the adrenalin rush, but the endorphins - they linger longer!!!

I agree with most of the sujestions above so I am not going to repeat any of them. Given below are my personal thoughts:
- Getting a stunt done just right infront of hot chix and they get majorly excited and impressed!
- When you exit a corner and a major high side proceeds to take place, your butt gets cattapolted up in the air, your legs dangle from side to side at about 140-160 km/h... Then just as you see certain painfull disaster unfolding right infront of your eyes, everything comes just right and you carry on with the biggest relife.
- When you come back from a race meet or a fast blast and though you had a few scares, there were no crashes and you spend that evening with your close mates talking shit or with your woman and chill out over a few beers or at the hot pools or something like that.
- When you nail it over a crest and your gutts get pushed down as you gain altittued at a rapid rate, then when you climax at the highest point, you are literally flying for just that moment of time... before you plumet back down and your gutts get pushed up again. (this I reckon gives me the biggest buzz of all time as far as bikes go!)

most of the above, plus;
doin a big wheelie, but just into it, realise that it's a fukin decent one and seeing which gives in first - nerves or gravity
that first kiss of the hot chick you've been chasing for a while
doing 280kph knowing things could really get wrong, really quickly
flying planes & stunt planes
jumping out of a plane
that story I told you MDU at the pub, with me an swannie flying past the cop
that feeling of drifting off to sleep, knowing you're going into your own world..
and orgasms (can never have too many of those!)

ooh...I've another one. *thinks self is not adrenalin-junky enough for site*
What about that feeling, when you're half awake, half asleep, and know that you don't have to get up for a while (raise your hands you childless ones...) and being aware of the warm cocoon of duvet/covers around your body - like all of a sudden 'feeling' the layer of air, and at the same time having leaden body. (hard to 'splain)
Or that feeling when you see "the one you want"'s name in your Inbox.
I felt great once, when driving my car on a hot summers day, with the windows all down (old skyline) along Aotea Quay with my best friend in the back, boyfriend in the passenger seat, and we were all singing at the top of our lungs. THAT is coolness encapsulated.
*thinks self is 'emotional'*
(oh - and yes - that'll be the boyfriend I split up with a few weeks after that! :) Alls well that ends well!)

Well it's really satisfying when you have to work so hard for it. Ages of foreplay followed by hours of pumping and grinding and sweating...and just when you think it's about to happen it goes away and you have to keep going, listening to your partner scream and moan as she climaxes again and again and again, while all the time you wish you could have just one. That's all you want, JUST ONE! And then finally it happens, a shattering explosion of pleasure! Waves of adrenaline and endorphines flood your body as every muscle in your body tenses and aches in pleasure.
Despite the enormous effort involved, it was SOOOoooo good, you want to carry on and have another- but she's tired. So you lay down next to her, and cuddle up- and enjoy the sound of her breathing while she sleeps.
After a while you head off into the kitchen and grab a Tui from the fridge

You've been working hard **insert manual labour task here** all day...
No chance to stop for a rest, the sweat pouring from your body that aches from continued use....
You go to the fridge (you know where this is going boys) ... reach in a grab the item you need soooo bad ... it's cold a full ... your finger slides across the top and finds the sweet spot... you tug back on the tab and hear that sweet sweet song ....TsssssssT you close your eyes and throw your head back as you hand follows with the kind of co-ordination normally reserved for olympic grade synchronised swimming ... and as your lips touch the cold lip, your mind races with expectation .. and then .... OMFG BEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRR!!!!! Attacks every sense, chilling your throat and quenching that thirst within.

Lot of really cool ones mentioned, some of the ones I've experienced have been: adrenal rushes - mostly motorcycle induced; being sure I'm going to die then surviving; guiding my newborn child out into the world and being the first to hold him; my kids spontaneously saying "I love you"; having my kids come running to greet and hug me when I get home after a shitty day at work; finding myself "in the zone" on a windy strip of road at night, totally at one with the bike; sitting by a campfire half way up a bush-clad mountain in solitude on a starry night having a quiet cigarette and a coffee that tastes of Manuka smoke, listening to the Moreporks.
Compared to those, even the most satisfying orgasms pale to insignificance...

Seeing a classic wave suck up in front of You, paddling into it, taking off and looking down the line at a long feathering wall. That's the surfing equivalent of coming round a corner on a bike & seeing a massive high speed sweeper up ahead... just that anticipation of knowing things are looking good and You are about to give it all You got.
