Full license passed

Since I haven’t actually posted anything since I joined I thought I would say something for anyone looking for info on the full license test since I just passed mine :) . I read all the posts I could find before my restricted and full and found the advice really helpful so here is what I did for my full.

The test was done at AA meadowlands in Howick. Probably took about 10min. Pulled out of the centre, through a round about, one u- turn in a nice big cul de sac, one stop and rejoin traffic, one give way turn, one stop at a t junction and one set of traffic lights before returning to the centre. No hazard identification. The tester was really nice and gave good clear directions the whole time. Plus she made it a little bit shorter since it was pouring with rain so yay for that.

So all in all if you have been riding semi regularly it should be fairly easy. Watch your speed and make your head movements a bit exaggerated.

Yea easy as aye went through the round a bout onto chapel rd then left into santa ana and down to kilkenny dr and back onto chapel rd returning to the aa, was a piece of piss really but glad i passed. Let me know when you get a bigger bike and you should come join us for a ride sometimes

what is expected from the test candidate:

1) for making u-turn? Do you have to signal "left" and stop with both feetson the ground, then signal right for 3 seconds and look over your right shoulder before making the turn?.
2) when approaching a roundabout or intersection with "giveway" sign, do you really need to stop with both feets on the ground even though you can see there is no traffic coming from the right in advance?

1. Yes, that's what I would do.
2. Don't stop at giveway (unless you have to giveway..) else you'll fail or earn a bad mark for holding up traffic or something silly (it's what I did in my restricted test), got told not necessary, don't do it.

The key to Give Way's is being "prepared" to stop. Head movements looking being obvious.

The FULL licence test is the easy bit ... surviving the next 40 years on the road ... on a bike, is the hard bit. It's BEEN done ... so you should be able to as well ...

Through roadworks, school traffic, expressways and got made to do a u turn!

Too easy.

nice work kx250. That sounds like the same route I went on.

Yip can't wait to get some nicer weather and get out on the back roads rather than commuting in the rain each day.

For my restricted I indicated left, stopped, indicated right and then did the u turn. My full I could just make a big circle. For the give way just go slow and like had been said make it obvious you can stop if you need to.
