Catching ferry on 21st, waiting for a reply from rainbow station about travelling through but sounds promising, hoping to go through rainbow and then through lees valley, overnight in methven or mt Somers. Thursday hoping to go through hakataremea pass then danseys pass, overnight near naseby or in danseys hotel, Friday trying to go over dunstan and Nevis roads and then down to invercargill. Need to leave invercargill on Sunday early, head up through mavora lakes and catch earnslaw, overnight maybe at haast,Monday need to be in picton for 10:30 ferry back to Wellington.anybody keen to tag along on all or bits would be cool,

Sounds like a great ride you've got planned - regret not able to go to the 'Burt' this year - it's on my bucket list though - have fun

Check with the Earnslaw people before you head up the Von as them being able to carry you is load and lake level dependant. It's a long way to backtrack if they won't take you.

There's a couple of us looking to do similar route to BM from Ashburton, with addition of Blackforest Track. Ping me a PM.
