Not sure if this should be in General Ravings but ......
Sounds like the entire thing is coated in diesel.
:spanking:
"The spill reached from the bottom to at least the summit on the Wairarapa side."

Not a mention anywhere in the News that they had caught, identified, or were even looking for the offender.
Here's a tip. It would be a truck that went over minutes before everyone started crashing.

It cost the GWRC $20k a year to run the toilets. And people still shit in the bushes behind it.

Yes it's fine. The new bit is freaking awesome. They got rid of the bumpy, blind, fiddly, dangerous nadgery and replaced it with a bunch of perfectly surfaced sweepers and only one of them is decreasing radius. It's unbelievably quick up the Wellington side to the summit now.
The Wairarapa side needs some treatment now. Lots of subsidence with bumpy corner entries and ruts.

Thanks for the reply - I'm hoping to go for a ride on Sunday, first outing for a while lucky coz the school holidays have just started. Didnt really want to travel up there then can off on the slippery stuff.
Cheers

The only slightly dodgy section is the corners heading up from what used to have "Jim's Corner" sign on it. But bumpy and a bit of loose gravel. If you've got eyes, you can't miss it though ;)

Would've been good if you wanted an insurance write-off!! (drunkenmistake is still in my mind muahaha) Just go zooming in onto the slippery shit and lose ya bike. Too late now you've missed ya chance

Am I the only one who enjoys a challenging road surface? :innocent:

New bit is almost too nice, haven't quite got the hang of it yet. Definitely gsxr/r1 country now, whereas the Buell used to have an edge. Still does on the Featherston side, particularly going up.

+1. Went up a few weeks back having not been over in nearly a year. Fantastic new stretch of road, and a slow lane to let cars pull over.
Something done right for once IMO.
