:woohoo:Big day Sunday, for many many years its been bbq/beers and good company watching the big bangers antics on the mountain,so it will be again on Sunday.Any others make a day of it?Always been a blue oval fan though as the years go buy just enjoy the day for what it is if Ford get a win its all good.No doubt the thread will attract the typical comments from those that cant wear a baseball cap the right way round but no problem there penance is a lowered Honda Civic. So anyone have plans, big screen in the shed etc?

The Last year of the Big Two..who will claim the title for the last time, Car?....... red/blue.... diver auzzie/kiwi.
Will our kiwi lad "The Guizz" be able to thwart the efforts of Ambrose and Skaffe.
Will the "over the hill" Murff survive and win ? only if the attrition rate of the better drivers is very high.
Where will the carnage be? the cutting, the elbow, ?????
I guess the only way to know will be to watch the race, in the way each of us enjoys the best.
Darkened room, full stereo sound, a case of burbon.....Hic

A crate, big screen and bbq at a mates.
It aint what it was in the Group A days but its still a hell of a race.
I own a 450kw '92 Skyline GT-R and adored the E30 M3's but have continued to love the battles onthe mountain between the teams since Group A ceased. I cheer for Lowndes no matter what he drives. And the Kiwi drivers, of course.

On the Skyline, many many years ago i was selling cars up in Wellington,a mate working on another yard sorted out the ground floor of a building opposite the pits (Wellington st race) and highlights of the day were watching the Skyline though suffering teething problems lap 5 seconds quicker than the Beemer (from memory) that won. From that day on i was determined to own one,and did.

I won a bet thathe M3 would win, though at the start of the race when the Nissan launched off around the first turn it looked most likely all others would soon be lapped!

Either parked in front of the tv at home with beer, or parked in front of the tv at a mates place with beer, either way for the duration.

Tis the sacred day in our house, our children were told from a young age that on the chosen sunday, don't disturb dad he's watching the car racing.

Would like to see the tru blu falcon win, but djr way too slow, but at least it looks like a 3 horse race this year between 888/fpr/stone brothers.

Yep, BBQ, beer and the projector pretty much every year. I'm so slack these days I hardly watch other rounds, but always make the effort for the big race. Then spend the next week or so wondering what my Evo is worth as a trade on an XR8 or Clubby (depending on which way the wind blows)...
