Been on one for a few weeks now. I am loving it. I started on a scorpio for 6 months, and got the Boulevard just before my restricted test. I was lucky they let me use it as they had no policy for doing tests on LAMS bikes.

I think it would be a great learners bike, though that said I would suggest getting on a few different types at dealers (sport, cruiser, etc) to get a feel for what is right for you. I am a larger guy (in both directions) and find the Boulevard hauls me around quite well. Lack of fairings, like any naked bike, means a bit of wind on you, unless you get a windscreen fitted. I would suggest you try to get it out to a 100Km zone on a test ride. There is a big difference from 80 to 100 wind wise, so it's worth getting out there.

All in all as a cruiser it's weight sits low so it is quite well balanced. Cornering it doesn't nip around as much as the scorpio, but I quickly got it sorted around Hamilton's array of roundabouts with no issues (though the one on the way out to Gordonton is still interesting now that you can approach it from town at 80 with all the gravel losely strewn about).

They are pretty common so finding on for a test ride should not be too hard.

Good luck!

They go good. Some people even have them for a post learners bike.

When you're ready to sell it, let me know. I'm after one to chop.
