Hi!

Does anyone know of an aftermarket source for front rotors for a Hornet 250 (2006)? I've heard they have an unusual mount pattern due to the 16" rim.

I know how expensive genuine parts are...

Cheers!

I believe they are warped. I tried loosening up the bobbins (rivets) on the floating rotor, and there is definitely movement. I'm getting pulsing at high / low speed...

Get yourself on eBay... I'm pretty sure you can get yourself some poorly made from shite metal ones out of China.

I'd rather not... I like the ability to stop ;)

How many kms has your baby got on it?

The 250 Hornet was famous for wearing the same size rubber as the 900, perhaps the discs are similar?

28k, Jap import though so could be more.

Unfortunately the wheel on the 250 is 16" instead of 17", cheers for the thought though.

Would rather buy new, wreckers are asking $150+ for half worn rotor :(

I've been forwarded onto these guys, they deliver to NZ apparently. http://metalgear.com.au/

Any knowledge on how good they are?

If it were mine, I'd just buy more OEM discs and continue on my merry way :) Have to wonder how they wore that one out in 28,000 kms though... I'm guessing it's been wound back.

Not worn, just warped or the bobbins/rivets are too stiff. It was kept outside for most of its life, that would have caused some issue there.

It was imported into NZ in 2007 @ 1500kms, has been tracked via WOF at 15km/day from then on. I'm presuming it's relatively accurate.

I meant before it arrived fwiw. Have you jammed a DTI on it to see what the real deal is? Or has it been doing it a while (i.e. long enough to wear a high point). Also worth mic'in it at half a dozen points.

Whites are the importers of MetalGear IIRC; you should be able to get them anywhere in NZ. I've one on the back of my RGV, but I've not run them on the front (running EBC Prolites fwiw).
