Sucks having a proper job, you cant go out riding on nice days like yesterday, well i dont have a proper job so i got to go out for a ride. but for some strage reason i put leathers pants on, not normal for me on a mid week ride.
at the top of the takas i see weasel an nick come a flying up , an i thinks oh great someone to chase back down. were talking about how i scape my pegs an there low an stuff, an that if i ever crash weasel wants my forks an so on. then went down to featherston, got a snack an we headed back up.
heading up behind weasel an nick at a reasonable pace, (as fast as i can make my bike go) half way up the hill a meter an a bit behind weasel, i have my bike going into a right hander leaned over a bit, an the peg starts scraping (ground wasnt flat was lumpoy ish) an then really digs into a little mound on the road an the rear got traction again an i go flying over the bike an into the rock at im guessing under a hundred over 70.
but on the way i got me knee down. YEEEAH!
bikes a wreck. i got knocked out from going head fiorst an im told 5 cars drove past while i was unconcious, BASTARDS! then the rural police come, then ambulance, then fire engine, then anotehr policeman, then some little fire engine truck. an then weasel an nick realised at the other side of the hill something was wrong an came back.
so yeh, i think this is the start of my racing career if i can bend the bike back to shape.

Ouch- sounds painfull. You do realise that getting your knee down when crashing doesn't count eh? Otherwise you could say "Mikey got his head, shoulder, back, arse, forearm, elbow, knee and toes down"

Nothing good ever comes out of falling off. You either injure yourself or your bike or both.
So did the leather pants help or maybe they inspired you to push a bit hard and contributed to the off?
Glad to hear your OK but you will be hurting over having to repair the bike.

yeh false sense of security riding with leathers not jeans, but ive stil got knee caps so leathers were worth it. im still feeling dizzy from head butting the wall, ambos wanted to take me to masterton hospital but i had a biek to recover. thanks for the ride weasel!
oh an just as a note, the KNEE WENT DOWN BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE SO IT COUNTS MOFOS going to have the scars to prove it
only third partied so ill be doing repairs myself, although bike looks to be on quite a funny angle at moment, i guess thats what rock cliffs do to bikes though.

half way up the hill a meter an a bit behind weasel,
Ahh, so you definitely weren't speeding then...... :wait:
I'd fight the careless riding charge. Bikes do tend to fall over from time to time - gravel, silt (know that one first hand), ice, diesel/oil etc.
Might pay to be careful about details on here though if you want to make a defense. Big brother is watching !!!

That's quite ironic, as Mikey had been comparing ground clearances of various bikes over the past week. Time to hang off more ?

MIKEY YOU MONGREL - I've been trying to text you to see if you're actually conscious this morning!!! Your'e meant to reply - I'm paranoind about delayed concussion and unconscious people don't reply! Hmpff. :kick:
Yeah - I saw you behind me and then you just weren't there and I started to doubt whether I had actually seen you there. Thought you must've got stuck behind cars but it was pretty sudden. That must be my fastest time back up the hill to find you though when we realised you weren't coming back! Mate - it was a pretty disturbing trip back up - searching for a nasty scene around every bend after that other biker waved that something had happened ahead.
Phew is all I can say.
(Oh - and can I have your forks? pt)

Seriously though, make sure you get yourself well checked out. Concussion is an evil and insidious thing. Make sure you take things nice and quietly for the next couple of weeks -- no tv, video games, computer or books. Just chill, OK?

Now i have done my stupid things yes, and im trying to learn from them. I would never wish any biker to die, however aint it true what nodman posted in another thread only the other day, that the wrong ones are getting killed. Do as Paul says mikey, wise-up a bit about it eh, theres no need to loose more to the road. Take that bike to the track and save your family some grief!

Mikey- hope you DID go to the hospital (or at least a doc) about the dizzy spells and nausea. It could be serious, so if you haven't done it already, do it now, OK?
As for ignoring the ambo's and looking after the bike instead of yourself- jeeeze Mikey, it's just a mass produced hunk of metal and plastic that can be replaced. You on the other hand can not.

I think Mr Motu was taking the piss , Mr Mikey. He was teasing you. 'Tis not for nothing that he is voted Evil Clown
There are of course no RIGHT ones to get killed ( I know you didn't mean to imply that there were) , and in fairness Mr Mikey's unfortunate experience sounds as if it was one of those things that could happen to anyone. Most of us will have scraped a peg or two at times. Normally it's not a problem. this time it went wrong. Shit happens.
But , very seriously, if you do feel sick (wanting to vomit) or faint, call 111 and get an ambo. DON'T TRY TO GET TO A HOSPITAL ON YOUR OWN.

By memory the RR's are above the line of the rear axle, and R's below it.

We were on the hill at around 2:30ish and didn't see anyone other than a couple of bikers at the top (we didn't stop so I don't know who they were) and a couple of bikes coming up from the Welly side.
What corner was it? And what direction were you heading? I had the video running yesterday so I might be able to post the section of video so that people can get a mental image of how it all happened?

cant load my pics so theres some from a cellphone, i choose a nice place to crash, enough room for all 5 emergency vehicles to pull off the road a bit.
ive taken a lots of bits off the bike, not going to be quite as fun trying to put it back together, tried straightening frame but its not going well, i think sub frame is a bit to bent an will not have strenght in my next crash.
so its either sell off what little parts are of value or buy a new frame an race it
