View Full Version : Non-insulated crimping tool?
We use these style of crimping tools at uni, the guy who ordered them left and no one knows where he got them from, I have a 16 way plug to wire on my race bike and obviously the pins are the tiny wee fiddly non-insulated type, I soldered one and bent the "flaps" down with a pair of pliers but I'd really rather use the tool that was designed for the job.
Where can I get a pair of these (I would order from I heart engineering if someone here can vouch for them) preferably kiwi side? I know Molex make a nice pair (they're what we have at uni)

Will they sell direct to the public? I'll drop in and see if they have a pair in stock on Monday. I'm really after a pair very similar to the ones I pictured simply because of the range it covers, the TWL ones look to only do about 3 sizes.
But cheers, I'll check em out monday.
Go into Redpaths.
They're good buggers and they'll sort you out.
If the unthinkable happens and I'm wrong PM me, cos I know the bums to kick.

Just had a peep at that link, and came across their metric wire strippers.
Do they deal in SWG ones as well? Just couldn't find any.

Looked at Cabac?

Available through electrical & engineering merchants.
Thanks for the tips guys.
I was going to suggest somewhere like J A Russells or Ideal electrical, I've seen similar in there on many occasions.

Yeah mate, Eastern Beaver have them, Japanese made, I've done a whole bike with them. I have the Hozan P-706, HERO FRH-07. Doesn't get much easier than those (unless you have megabucks, I assume there is always 'something better'). Fuck Kiwi made, you want actual quality that is infinitely repeatable, not some half arsed product (having said that, a Chch made SAFA toolbox is basically bomb proof, so Kiwi's don't always make a hash of it).

I got simple but robust utilux ones from local Corys electrical, done more than few boxes of crimps so far.
