Why is it, that these cars all crash "shortly after the pursuit was abandoned"?

Morons who do runners in cars are asking for trouble, and to kill someone. But I am starting to find the standard line from the cops hard to swallow.

They had got away from the first cop then followed the second then overtook them. Sound like they were baiting the and cops got what they deserved.

When the cops get called off the runner doesn't know this so carry's on an then on relising the cops aren't there relax's but is still going fast so crashes.

It should read "police rammed fucktard off the road killing all the dumb fuckwits inside"

It does seem to be a common theme. Those cases where the pursuit is NOT called off seldom result in serious accidents, so the obvious solution is that police should not abandon their pursuit. The down side to this would be if the fleeing drivers still crash, then the police would be accused of causing the accidents by chasing innocent motorists. They just can't win.

Just going with the causality argument, but it they might be called off the cases that are most likely to end in a crash, therefore, it seems like most of the crashes happen when they've been called off the chase. The ones they aren't called off are the ones less likely to end with a crash

Makes me think that the reason people continue to run is because they're well aware that the police will call off the chase and there's a pretty good chance of getting away. I've seen/heard of more police chases in 5 years living in NZ then I have in 25 years in the US.

If the only people hurt/fleeing were the people killed, why does anyone even care? If you're doing a runner and crash, so long as you've not hurt any innocent parties, I can't bring myself to care even a little.

If you're thick enough to try and flee, and enough of an ass to put everyone around you at risk, then good riddance

You conveniently missed the most important part, someone didn't stop when requested to by police and broke multiple laws while trying to evade police.

But can you please post up where you got this information from or, like your other posts, you just pull bullshit out of your arse.

No I didn't miss the point, they got what they deserved most likely. But like most others here I find it a-little too convenient that cops can chase people for 20 mins no probs, yet within a couple mins of police "calling off the chase" the perps always crash.

So does a runner,........cops see he is not going to stop.......call off chase?

Only having one leg reduces the need to spread as much.

As long as they don't kill any innocent people, I couldn't give a shit if they die. Three less scumbags to pay for out of our taxes, as far as I'm concerned.

The day Police are told not to pursue at all will be a victory for criminals.

The inference that Police are at fault in these pursuits is a joke, if the little asshole didn't break the law he'd be alive. Cue "he was such a nice guy" from his family and friends.

Why is it, that these cars all crash "shortly after the pursuit was abandoned"?

The pursuits are abandoned because of the level of danger. A crash afterwards merely means that yep, the cops were right. Too dangerous to continue.

You get this sort thing in surf life saving. someone has their arm up for help and when the boat turns up they sink as they think the danger has passed and relax and so sink.
Same sort of thing here suddenly they get away, police back off, they relax and spend more time looking behind.

With the cops chasing ... two (or more) speeding cars are on the road ... call off the chase and only one is.

Those that run and get away with it ... will try it again. Those that try it and don't get away ... usually don't try it again ...

Moral to those that want to try .... are you feeling lucky .. ??

Problem is that just as often it is Mr. or Mrs. innocent that gets hit in the process. If they only maimed and killed themselves that is fair.

Something else that is unmentioned is that usually the passengers are begging the driver to stop.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if what scuba Steve said is true atleast some of the time (cops see crash, call in abandon pursuit, wait a minute then call in the crash) but I really wouldn't be too concerned about it either.

The fact remains that they ran (and probably did something else illegal to make it necessary to run in the first place) and it was them that crashed so the cops are in no way at fault.
No sympathy here.

Do you do illegal street racing?

Are you a spotty white middle class brat?

Do you drive around and around at night looking for other groups of white middle class spoilt brats listening to boom chucka chucka music with loud fart fart exhausts pipes?

Are your mags worth more than your car?

Do lots of normal people hate you?

Is your stereo worth more than your mags?

Would you do a skid at your mates funeral?

Do you think that you have the god given right to do a skid?

Do you have to tip diesel, cooking oil or some other lubricant on the road so your 65HP POS can spin its wheels?

I have a modified car. It has lowered uprated springs and spax shocks, it has magnesium wheels, it has a tuned length long centre branch exhaust pipe, it has pan hard rods, anti tramp bars and a very stiff sway bar. It has a fast road scatter cam, high compression pistons and has been ported and polished. It is running larger carbies and uprated cooling system. Does this make me a boi macer, fuck I hope not.

I always laugh when I hear the little weasles say "leave us alone we are just car enthusiasts". No they are not they are just wannabe criminal scum and diserve everything they get. Fuck its gotta hurt to go from 40 m/s to 0 m/s in the length of your bonnet!

Probably not

why waste the rubber

Only so I can do donuts with my r/c car

I hope not too, hence my question

I noticed in chch since cruising became illegal the only ones you see in cars are the assholes that cause trouble, fight and throw bottles at each other, but I used to like cruising around on the weekends, I was often referred to as both a boy racer and a car enthusiast.

Driving his parents car apparently... does that mean he isn't a boy racer? Or that his parents are also boy racers? Oh and apparently drunk too... is that because he is a boy racer? Or is that because he drinks?

As usual Flip marches into a thread, jumps to a conclusion based on the fact that speed and a Honda were involved, and ignores any chance that maybe they weren't even boy racers, maybe they were just muppets?

I'm not a boy racer, I couldn't care less about skids, or racing others, but it does piss me off when every single crash ever is blamed on them, even if there is no proof they were even involved. Oh and mr Flip forgot the other type of boy racer... the middle aged male, who drives like shit, gets ridiculous road rage, and speeds past people, and cuts them off in their HSV.

IMHO boi macers are muppets. In this case speed, running from the cops, no licence, midnight, booze, young men and a relatively fast car. If they are not boi macers what the fuck are they?

There is no other type of boi macers, those old guys in HSV and just bad drivers. My personal dislike is the old farts that take race lines (wrong side of the road) in V8 Toyota Prados.

The problem ultimately stems from the fact that we are happy to give anyone 16 years and older a licence to drive regardless of their ability to take on that responsibility in a mature manner.

In that respect we're no different to the Americans who refuse to concede any ground on their retarded notion that anyone should be allowed to carry a gun.

Ummm that's a change from the formerly prevalent KB view that running was *the* thing to do? Or are bikes different to cars?

Not sure where I fit in all this, owning a turbo Subaru and all. Bit old to be a boi racer.

To my mind part of the wider problem is how these chases are reported, "Three killed in police chase." There is implicit blame on the Police.
A more appropriate headling might be "Three idiots kill themselves attempting to evade Police." Not quite as catchy but more accurate.

Some young drivers do live in Disneyland when it comes to their driving. A work mate is having problems with his teenage son (19). Tried talking to him about his driving and got challenged to beat Micheal Schumacher on the sons x box simulator. Apparently the son can beat Schuey so that just shows how good the son is.

Dean couldn't believe the stupidity of his sons arguement. As the grandmother bought the car, so grandsonny can travel to work, Dean's a bit hamstrung about dealing with him.

The problem is nothing new. Back in the early seventies, a good mate had his mother buy him a H1 500. Steve figured he was cool enough to handle a 500. He was, for 2 months.

These kids have little ability to tell the difference between the latest computer game and reality, until such time that they discover the 'Game Reset' function doesn't work in real life situations :shit:

If you hop into a boy racers car then you are a boi racer.Totally. Just like all Harley riders are gang members and should be run off the road into the front of a bus or larger object?
