if you call a cop shop, they'll think you're guilty straight away. Give a false name just to be sure.. Like Homer did.. "Hello, my name is Mr Burns..."

or you could get done one more time and you lose your licence and then you know ring the 0800 courts i think it is

Yeah pacman for sure - I want to check if the old bookings (I got in NZ) on my Aus licence counted/transferred to my current NZ one - daz all.

Ring LTNZ, driver licensing. It's an 0800 number. They'll tell ya over the phone.

But make sure when they tell you how many you laugh and say, "Oh, is that all? That's excellent news. And here I was thinking I was riding without a license".

I smoked some bacon on the way to work this morning, and just wanted to check that you guys didn't get my plate... Yeah, the plate number is [insert real plate number here].... It's not loaded as a vehicle of interest? Oh that's wonderful news, I feel so much better... Yes, that's right, I'm still living at [insert real address here]... Yes, I'd be glad to discuss my lucky getaway with your colleagues... Yes, I'll be here for the next few minutes..."

How do you check what your current 'score' is?

There is also a number you can call - LTSA/LTNZ/ whatever they're called I think...[can't remember where I found it]

They ask all the usual questions to check your identity and address - and then they tell you your 'score'. Demerits only show up when you 'admit' liability for the infringement by paying for it...so if you haven't paid (or gone to court and been found guilty), the ticket won't show up on your score sheet.

I'm up to 40... :oi-grr:

See the post above mine - much more to the point

I am at 35......and goodness gracious I am certainly not getting anymore....as I am going to apply for CBTA Learner to Full.

I have embraced the fact that if you travel at 85-90 kms p/h rather than 100, you will enjoy a 15% fuel saving.....which is probably not a bad thing now that I have swapped the 626 (cage) for the Black Beast (Diamante VRX)....

Is difficult at times, but I just keep telling myself that I can end the boring 60km drive with a 5km 'sprint' through Ridge Rd....pretending I am on a bike....

Hmmm, don't you think we attend enough biker funerals already, but hey, if you're only a real man when you show a complete disregard for other road users safety, then oh well I can deal with the whole "petticoat" thing, happy riding.

Big Dave

Total disregard - as evidenced from the 62kph and 114kph speeding fines i've racked up lately - obvious menance to society.

well I just got my licence back after a three month ban for wining 100 points, and today I get pulled for 33 Kms over and won another 40 points. now the copper said that I already have 100 points when he gave me this new prize, but I had herd that after a 100 point ban the licence is returned clean! can anyone confirm that this is true or not?

I'm pretty sure that your demerits are wiped after you get your licence back from when it's suspended for demerits, it would sort of defeat the purpose if you got your licence back with 100+ demerits already loaded onto it.

While your spending the next few months not riding you may like to spend some time learning about spelling and grammar.

Finally, someone who can spell licence correctly. Stupid American spelling dominating the "spelling Nazi" bunch.
Oh an +1....

Whinge and moan. Your 100 demerits are back and clean now, assuming you actually have your licence back.

If your licence is suspended for demerits, then yes, it should be cleared when you get it back. One grey area is if you get tickets between reaching 100 and getting suspended. You're not a very quick learner are you?

Some people are just slow learners.....

Now, the question UK Baz asks....

Not all the points get wiped...

If you had 160 points, 100 "should" get wiped, and the remaining 60 carry over, to the next time you want to give up your licence so readily..... and if you just got 40 more, thanks for coming, be in to see you soonish....

Sometimes....

Sometimes the whole lot get wiped. I know of one where 335 points got wiped for 3 months loss of licence. Discount for bulk offending, I guess....

There doesn't seem to be any exact science to it...

Not implying its your fault in anyway but its great to know that we are governed by these "precise & fair" rules when it comes down to demerit points/licencing...

I believe there is.
A certain KB'er made sure the fines were "all" paid, prior to handing over the licence for suspension.
It appears any "accounts still open" do not get wiped.

Dunno if it's the same certain KBer, but one I know had to make sure all points were awarded to his account before handing over his bit of plastic.

Sometimes they arse about getting the points credited to your account (despite being paid), therefore the latest FlyBuys aren't awarded until your licence is gone (and are credited which you have no licence, but are there to say hello once you have it back).

LTNZ look after this....

But as earlier, all 335 points wiped for three months loss, compared to another who has 110 pooints, loses the 100, and 10 carry over toward the next time - (and all paid up etc, well after, so all flybuys awarded......)
