Anybody traveling between Te-anau and mossburn, be careful on the Gorge hill. The road is absolutely covered in cowshit from top to bottom. Also the Kingston crossing to Mandeville road has big patches of the shit too.

An extra hazard up this way is the cutting of roadside hedges. The mowers throw alot of the mulched up splinters out onto the road. I hit about a kilometre of this yesterday. Stopped and put the scooter on the centre stand and spun the wheels , once I was past the hedge. Found one wee stick embedded.

Yeah, that stuff can be nasty on a bike. There was one down this way a few weeks ago getting told off by a copper, he had been throwing shit all over the place too.

The uphill, southbound SH1 section approaching Hillend turn-off (about 5km before town heading south) is the pits - uphill, opening the throttle, heading into a setting sun and effluent all over the road...

Thanks for the heads up

Glencoe to Brydone road it's mostly mud and crap off tractor tyres around cocky driveways, a little care needed.

Southland?

Easy, smells of cow shit with a slight hint of botulism.

Just blame it all on the cow cockies.....After all it is what built this country...the farming....the hard work, the innovation!

Go on then, who should you blame it on? The miners?

Perhaps they should try some innovation that keeps all the shit contained on the truck.

DairyNZ tried that. www.dairynz.co.nz/file/fileid/42737

Too bad there's a pack of _wit transport companies that charge 5c less per head and can't be assed upgrading their trucks, and they're tag-teaming a bunch of money-hungry yokel farmers that once gave a sh_t but dropped it on the road somewhere.

No, that can't be right. I'm sure they're all nice fluffy bunnies and not invading the McKenzie country with plans of indoor dairying. No, still doesn't sound 100% Pe-ewre.

No one blamed it on the cockeys mate, this thread is about cow shit on the road, not about who is responsible for getting it there. :calm:

Why is it, that you can ride a 100ks, cross one or two 4metre wide cow crossings in a milisec, and that supplys half the crap that sticks to your bike?

Yeah last time I was down souf enjoying the countryside I spent a lot of time thinking that this isn't doing our clean green image much good with the tourists that shit is smeared all over the roads. can stink too.
On a bike it can get sprayed up over your leathers. Little Jimmy washing the car for a fiver is exposed to it.

Some serious fines should be imposed till these cunts fit some proper traps. I mean c'mon how is it legal to spread slippery shit over the roads? Un-secure load should cover that.

What happens if we ever have some cow like outbreak we wish to contain?

So it makes beef more expensive. Can't imagine it will be of much impact when supermarkets are responsible for most the the ticket clipping.

but seriously they are spreading shit over the country. They need a good kicking.

The farmers representative made sure that 'insecure load' type legislation did not include cow/sheep/mammoth shit wot fell onto our roads from trucks.

Only bricks, anvils and dirigibles etc count...

So, what do we have to do? Find the owners of these transporting firms & liberally spray effluent from their house all the way to little Jennifer's school till their wife stops talking to them & they decide to stop being such cunts? After all its not illegal it appears.

That legislation works. I hardly ever run over a brick on the road these days.

See this is the problem attitude... they don't care about dropping shit all over the roads cos THEY OWN THIS COUNTRY.
