Further research by McCann, an advertising firm, found that 37 per cent of young people believe not answering a message is a far graver faux pas than phubbing friends.

The fuck? I can understand if it's a phone call, but a text...

I reckon most phubbers you could just sneak away from, so when they get done texting everyone has just fucked off...

Meh, I find when a friend has asked me out for dinner or lunch, then sends more than a few texts...I just get up and walk. Works in my circle :devil2:

This problem is only there because the ones being ignored don't speak up or act

Works especially well if they send the bill the table once you've snuck off I'm sure...

You were probably boring the shit out of them talking about bikes.

When out with friends for the night, try this.
Place every bodies phone in a pile on the center of the table,
The first person to answer their phone pays the bill, if they do so before the end of the evening.
Works well.

I can't understand why some people feel the need to be connected to their phone all the time, 100% of the time, especially if they are with someone else.
My pet peeve is when my wife or friends do that while we're having dinner.

Used to be basic manners to leave the phone alone when with friends. Sad state of affairs when often everyone at the table is on them instead.

On the other hand, I'm on call 24/7, so if clients are ringing, yes, I will answer, but step away from the table. All my mates know the situation, but I don't spend my time on facebook, answering messages etc. Why kids especially need to do this, I have no idea.

I'd be quite happy to use my phone less, but being in IT, that ain't gonna happen.

A guy I have a beer with, uses his phone to google things that come up in conversation, to provide accurate information on subject matter

His mum is a librarian and his father a doctor.

Being an aspie I dont mind his break in eye contact or not present presence
