Good on ya Mike!
C.B. and I went down to Pounawea in the Olds (ex-Oamaru car) and give the Thermette it's first boil-up for the spring, had a cuppa and a couple of bikkys then home, nice day for a cruise.
We looked at the water, talked about floundering - then thought "Naaahhh.." - it ain't THAT warm yet.

You made the right decision mate, might give it another go around the end of Setember,Graves dam is generally a fair bit colder than the likes of the Kakanui river even in mid summer, beautiful clear clean water though.

Any fish in there?
I'd rather have your TL than many of the new bikes on the market.
Suzuki bits are often very interchangeable - can you get a slipper clutch for the TL?

Yes, they can be bought - but you might have to be Marty McFly 'cos mine was made in the late 50's or so
No doubt soembody will point you towards modern ones.

Yep,last year i almost stood on a flounder which was surprising as the bridge is a fair way from the coast.TL has a slipper clutch albeit a primitive one...though some of the guys overseas on the TL forum have fitted setups from donor bikes.Havent bothered myself it works ok.

There's a few around. I've long since lost my old original copper one, bought a stainless one which wasn't as good and lost that.

Jiiiiimmminy.
Been spring over here for a few weeks. Clear skies and mid 20's. Best time of year in Brisbane.
Cooler nights though - pool water is still too chilly.
Have been doing some good dirt riding on the KLR up around the Glasshouse Mountains in perfick conditions.

I put a net out over the weekend - got some flounder, some small kahawai (cat food) and a very large mullett ...
The water here was a little cool but not too bad .. soon I'll take the boat out and get some snapper in the deep freeze as well ... as long as the bastards don't cut the daily limit - I fish in Area 1
