Can You Help?? Throttle Adjustment ZZR250

I have a 94 Kawasaki ZZR250. It recently went into TSS for some work and since then the throttle seems very firm to turn.

My mini manual gives me no clues ... but is there an easy way to adjust the throttle or is this better done by the experts?

experts is better. maybe fraided or starting to break or wear inside.
check out side line for any visible wear or damage.
or it may need some oil in the line.
if so better to take it to someone who knows what to do. like another KB memember.
when they break they are a real pain in the butt.

Hmmm, thanks for that. I'm told nothing goes wrong with this bike but so far, the horn fell off, the ignition barrel fell out, the overide kill switch to the side stand failed, the whole bike wouldn't work after laying briefly on it's side ... all of these things fixable but for my first bike .... I'm getting weary of it.

If it was fine before it went in for servicing, and it's now stiff, then the chances are that they've routed the cable incorrectly or done something else that is making it bind so it's stiff. Unless you've got someone that can look at it for you, I'd take it back and tell them it was fine before the servicing and now it is stiff, and ask them to rectify it.

take it back for sure.
but it would be wise to let someone different have a look at it too.
if you know any mechanically minded friends. let them have a look.

I agree with vifferman, take it back to the guys that serviced it.
Another thing it could be is inside the handle, the throttle cable wraps around a drum/pulley. Sometimes the cable can get pulled to the side of the drum which stuffs things up, this happened to either justsomeguy's bike or my brother's bike (both have zzr250's and I can't remember which it was :wacko: ).
My brother's bike has had problems with the ignition barrel falling out, so you're not alone. It's not a serious problem though, just needs a couple of new bolts with some loctite on them.

The guys at TSS have a good reputation and I would be amazed if they didn't fall over themselves to be helpful if you approach them in a calm and confident fashion.

Modern bikes have a billion bits and bobs and every now and then a few things fail, especially on older models brought in from japan (I assume this is the case with yours). It's all little stuff so stick with it, apparently they are a pretty good bike...

Either that or buy a Moto Guzzi and then you will really have a few tales to tell.....

The Guys at TSS are an awesome bunch and I have had no problems in the past with them. I just thought I might be able to fix this one on my own ... without bugging them, again!

The first problem I had with the bike resulted in a new throttle cable being put in, so no worries that it's worn but definitely needs adjusting. I will call them. Thanks
